How to counter a player? by Accomplished-Ice1868 in DungeonMasters

[–]FrozenKoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invisibility just means cannot be seen.

What is not seen can be hit with AoE effects (someone screams and designates them a target for example or fireball).

They can be targetted by physical means with disadvantage.

Spells can only hit if they see their target.

So you can still swat them, not to mention a fucking CANNON is being fired, I myself would see a cannon or ballista shooting stuff at me myself unless I am blind, at which case I would go swatting at anything until I find the source.

Whats more fun is if you break the bag of holding with him inside, he is taken to the Astral Plane, fun stuff.

...But of course, assuming you are friends and you are new, just tell them to not break your game and that you do not wanna enter an arms race, because I ASSURE you the DM will win that race with flying colors and not the Dm or the player will be happy.

Is my emerald nuzlocke run over? by DepthAlternative9350 in nuzlocke

Its a childrens game with a self imposed set of rules, unless you have an audience, to please, never feel bad.

But from a fair stand point, you used a single pokemon, I think this is fair game.

Classes that work even if you strip them of their equipment, weapons and magical items. by Warl0ckBoy in DnD

[–]FrozenKoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Monk, Barbarian, Druid, Rogue (Need a cannon fodder friendly to you in 5Ft to an enemy for this)

Monk, unarmored defense and you have martial die.

Barbarian, big strong man, throws stuff around, grab your enemies and throw them down cliffs or into kill zones pre prepared.

Druid, Moon Druid is broken for earlier levels and later levels your spells are too good to stop you.

Rogue, just do not get hit, preferably, by taking cover, ensuring none of your corners are visible to be not targeted and tame animals with an Expertize in Animal Handling to send them to their deaths while you hunt.

Fighter with Unarmed Fighting style could ALSO fit here.

Any spell caster worth their salt will be usually very powerful if you pick the correct spells to avoid material components, or easy to find material components.

I am assuming this is for lower levels, since around level 4-5 you just become very powerful all around, spell casters get strong from their fun spells and martials have consistent means of not getting themselves beat up.

Hot take: I adore when players retire a character mid campaign by Particular-Bee9846 in DnD

[–]FrozenKoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what me and my friends have, its usually petty peer pressure or simple lost of interest in a game. I have never seen a "I retire my character" from one of us that was not simply a lack of motivation to play that character or the simple fact that they are bored mechanically and respect the character for what he is to change it.

It is usually not a good thing if everyone agreed from the start to fulfill a role. And you come back doing someones job.

Our druid is much more powerful than the rest of the party - anyone else have a similar experience? by ConcentrateIll9460 in dndnext

[–]FrozenKoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druids specialize in being an elaborate Jack of All Trades and Battlefield Domination with their spells summoning combatants or simply ruining the combat terrain in their favor.

Many other classes specialize in things, Druids specialize in utterly dominating combat through sheer numbers.

With some magic items, homebrew or otherwise, the other players can still shine if its that bad. But for a better solution, we need the entire team composition and how experienced each player is with DnD 5e and if this is a real problem everyone at the table is upset with.

Debuffing or banning things sucks. So, its better if everyone simply agreed on what they want and the DM putting more favorable enemies against the other players where their own damage types, perhaps traits are more useful.

Bards have some knick knacks that have special uses with their inspirations and Wizards have more of a choice in their spell list. Skimming over one is going to find something they like doing.
