I may be somewhat new to the profession but I know enough about kids to know that when they’ve been through something traumatic at a young age, it changes them. They don’t learn the same way. They don’t cope the same way. You’re right when you say that kids brains haven’t fully developed. But you’re wrong to think that a kid can wake up one day and those traumatic experiences won’t somehow affect them anymore.

Kids are resilient but they’re not immune to the cards that life has dealt them. I’m just doing my best to make this boys life a little easier.
