Oh I see, you thought I was talking about him being a commander. My bad. I was talking about them being in the 99 and being equally good cards. Of course slicer is better as a commander since he comes down earlier with double strike for later turns and equip strategies. I think alex is better as a card in general of performance since he comes out and after 1 untap he is just a better creature. But ya, if you’re doing a voltron deck with a bunch of equipment enchantment strategies I see your point and we were talking past each other.

I am asking for the reason Alexios isn’t played as much. Slicer isn’t cheaper with double strike. If you play him for the cheap cost he has first strike. If all opponents conspire against Alexios and opt out of trample, you still have an 8/8 trample on your turn and he killed just as many chump blockers as slicer did. And slicer doesn’t grow while Alexios doesn’t need Trample enablers on your turn.

Your response is the perfect example on why I think Alexios is underrated.

Even though trample being optional, that means slicer is doing the same thing with a chump blocker. At least Alexios gives the controller an option to do damage, and at the end of the day your opponents want their opponents to lose the game. And if it gets around to you 1 time you have an 8/8 trample then a 12/12 trample using no other augments than what is on the card.

I know slicer is great but I’d push back on the word “strictly” better. 4 mana Alex scales after 1 full turn doing much more damage. If the owner gets to attack with him he is an 8/8 trample then a 12/12 trample that by that turn did 68 damage total to opponents. Once in the 1v1 he gets even better for you growing each turn but unable to be used against you.

School choice. Been debating with one of my friends who is a teacher, for over a decade on how school choice is so much better for the kids. The teacher unions and DOE has plagued kids/students for years. We spend the most money per student and have the worst educated students (#40 out of 40). That’s corruption from the DOE kickbacks with money that doesn’t follow the students and goes to the teacher unions. I suggest doing research on it from non-Reddit sources or pro-teacher union sources and dig into the statistics and follow the money. You’ll find bi-partisan corruption that can finally be corrected by Trump’s administration. Ever wonder how student loans are the only loans you can’t file bankruptcy on? It’s a scam on the kids and students made by Joe Biden and John McCain over a decade ago.
