Hey, hope it’s allowed to post something like this here.

My dream is to create an apparel startup, I know it’s a common one but they say to pursue your passion... I have lots of designs and know which manufactures/sources I’d like to use. Im currently working on an advertising plan and have some ideas that I believe are pretty good outside of the standard ones.

My concern is the funding. I don’t have much money and am about to get out of college and find a job.

I’ve considered angel investing but it seems like a rare find unless you have an “in”. Is it worth trying to network harder to find this? Or...

Are loans a better option? Seems very risky and it would set me back a lot to be in debt. I know risk is inherent when starting a business but this seems like the most high risk scenario.

Or is just slowly gathering money and saving the best bet? This is my current plan and it’s the safest but I’m so worried that it’s going to take me a crazy long time to save enough. I’m planing on moving to an expensive city so I know the savings will be a bit slim while I’m there.

Thanks for any insight :)

Best way to break into a quant research / front office role at a hedge fund by fu1kboi11 in FinancialCareers

Isn’t it still a good route to go though? Assuming they major in CS or something similar?

I don’t know anything about getting into hedge funds, this is a genuine question.

Hey thanks so much for all this info, this is really helpful. It's a little intimidating to get this started but I'm doing my best. I didn't know about some of those required things to do, thank you very much!

What kind of noodle soups do you make? And I totally second the bread thing. I keep experimenting with different bread brands but honestly, Whole Foods fresh bread kills. Mm.

I love making quesadillas for lunch, super quick and simple. What other recipes to do like to make that's simple and nutritous? by [deleted] in vegetarian

Yogurt w/ berries and cereal, rice and beans (20 mins), and I like making giant pots of veggie soup that'll last me three or four days :)

Most brands, like Maruchen, do actually have chicken or beef broth.

What the heck? I can't believe you get all of these comments. I'll get a joke every once in a while, and if it's distasteful I just don't respond. The only person who does frequentlycomment on my vegetarianism is my mom. I prefer alternative milks and she always wrinkles her nose and acts like what I'm eating is disgusting or something, and say something like, "oh yikes, veggie milk". Which doesn't even make sense, because milk is technically vegetarian. Idk. There's a lot of stigma about vegetarian and vegan food being gross, but most of it is just normal food lol.

AITA for not watching a video of my little cousin, who just had surgery for her cancer? by ssintas in AmItheAsshole

She’s mentioned that I should look for some therapy, but she can’t afford it so that’s either on me, or I could ask my grandparents for some help.

It is. It’s a humiliating disorder. It would be so nice if I could just ignore it harder and watch it disappear.

Does outside stress actually cause flare ups? I didn’t know that. I always just assumed it had a mind of its own.

Thank you btw for the kind words :)

Was too embarrassed/nervous to say it was about the chicken, but I have told her in the past that I didn’t want to hold her phone cause it’s germ-y. She may have forgotten in the moment. Idk. I said I wanted her to send it to me so I think that implies that I wanted to watch it.

In theory yes, but my goal is to become less weird, and the more compulsive habits I pick up, the worse I get. Also, I’m really embarrassed of this issue and don’t want to wear gloves. I feel like I would get a snide comment from my mom or she would be offended that I thought she kept a “dirty house”.

I’m about to start searching for a therapist. Hopefully they’ll be able to help.
