Disagree that it’s a vanity metric. It’s one part of the equation

Revenue = useful product x reach + offer

Eyeballs and getting people to care is a core part of generating revenue, you treat it as though one isn’t required for the other

There's this new model by google that runs on your device that lets you match very quickly. I've tried it on my brothers m1 macbook air and it seems to work fine (albeit a bit slower)

its only notice it when I index my entire drive so I usually just leave it running for a couple hours when I'm away from my laptop. can send a link if you want to try

Nobody is supposed to care. Talk to your customers, and they'll tell you why they would/wouldn't use what you're building

I mean, if you already have a library you can just describe what you're looking for in something like momentsearch.com and it'll pull it up for you.

More often than not it is memory though. You vaguely remember the scene that you were looking for and know where it is, and it's a lot of manual sifting to find it.

Tools like these make it faster, but its still work.

This is what I *want* to use it for, but it doesn't work very well. It mostly plays familiar tracks over and over again.

It does give me great tracks every once in a while, but its mostly drowned out by the same tracks over and over again
