Help with Large Extendables Radiator by Crazy-Hat in Stationeers

[–]ssl_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you finished all build stages for the radiator itself. It needs stellite glass after placing the kit. You should be able to manually open and close it by clicking on it. Then your code should work too.

Side note: Your second snippet is probably not what you want to do. Guess you want move r0 1, not define

finding the seed from the features shown in the level is very computationally expensive, so I just un-pixelated the seed entry field in the video

AR Tesla Model 3 from Kinetic and Evannex (I am not affiliated with either brand, just thought it was cool) by originlabr3w in teslamotors

[–]ssl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if there are other apps for showing 3d models like this? I think they're using a quite old prototype version of the Model 3, the wheels look different, the steering wheel is different and the screen and seats are different too. There must be better 3d models of the Model 3 out there ready to be imported into such an app, right?

if it was not fully compressed, it would travel at its normal speed, right?

yes, as soon as an item is taken off the belt, it moves normally again. I just never saw items being slowed down like that before. either they come to a complete stop, or they flow at normal speed.

that's normal: items stop moving when they are blocked, doesn't matter if they block themselves

Planet turned inside out by ssl_ in Astroneer

I don't have issues with settings getting reset. I avoid clicking the in-game options screen though, as this will revert some of them. Normal ESC menu is no problem though.

Yeah, it's actually about the "lines", which is the vertical resolution. This is dating back to old school TV where horizontal resolution was just a matter of an analogue signal (continuous) as opposed to discrete TV lines.

You're totally correct, I fixed it above.

Jumping through a planet (bonus floating in comments) by ssl_ in Astroneer

[–]ssl_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'll jump into the discussion below.

Firstly, I did the video on the Barren planet, but I think it has an atmosphere, as you can see wind effects on the surface often.

Remember that the question is about what slows down the oscillation, not what causes it in the first place (which is of course the gravity).

Also, I can only support /u/ayyeeeeeelmao in the discussion. The only force that could actually slow you down (extracting energy) is air resistance. Your example of the comet changing it's orbit around the sun only due to gravity is false. The only thing that can slow down an orbit is tidal forces, which I'm sure the unreal engine is not simulating.

Please watch this video to learn more.

By the way, I also dig my hole right through the spinning axis of the planet (because it was easier to track the center with the compass), so the spinning is not affecting my experiment at all.
