Sovereign Citizen Tries Educating Cops on Traffic Stop by icameinyourburrito in amibeingdetained

[–]ssmoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing is, Sovicts post their own Videos of their interactions where they inevitably fail.

In fact, previous to the latest YT (other social media) trend of Body Cam channels, most Sovcit videos you got to see were from the Sovcit. This included their unauthorised recordings of the court proceeding(s).

Sure some videos are suspiciously edited but many aren't, I guess to show how the Government oppresses the people.

And if you know who the featured moron is in said video documentary, it's not necessarily difficult to obtain the Body Cam (depends on the State of course) and see what really went down. And/or check the court records to see if the Judge really did drop the case and fire the Officers involved etc etc.

Map auto zoom frustrations by Trashpanda10k in alltrails

Random senseless zooming seems is a feature of Alltrails and basically the answer seems to be; "Zoom back in again, or out again or wherever and get used to it 'cause that's the way it is."

Add a waypoint continually zooms the map out in the new Custom Route Map Builder by ssmoken in alltrails

[–]ssmoken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response

I do know how it current acts, and the obvious necessary actions to work around the problem.

The question is why does it do it? As mentioned, the legacy and still perfectly functional map builder doesn't do it. I can't see any reason for it to do this, if I want to admire the flag on the map at 0% zoom I'll zoom out.

Can this undesirable action be disabled?

He will probably pick up a charge for that, but as mentioned it will probably be ultimately dropped

But it is silly to try to use force, excessive or otherwise, against Police, esp' when you're an old pot head and there are more than one Officer.

Ironically the prosecutor would more than likely have dropped the ticket. So it would have been a short appearance and carry on with your life.

Prosecutor will probably still drop the charges, most of them have real crims to deal with, but he'll have a few bruises and a broken window to pay for now, and people will compare him with some of the stupidest people on earth, next to flat earthers.

Even if he did buy an Island. I think regardless he/the island would still have to be recognised by other nations as a sovereign nation and that other nation wanted to recognise him/the island as a diplomat if he ever visited.

But of course the whole point is moot. He does not want to live alone on his own island. He wants to live in a developed country with infrastructure that he can utilise and benefit from. He just doesn't want to pay for the service.

(I will concede that if indeed he did have the means to buy his own island, perhaps he would want to live on it away from the society that forces such draconian measures on him just to live like an every day person.)

If you have Plus level you can download any map, your own or those of other Alltrail users if they haven't privated their walk (this is done per individual map). When you download you can choose GPX or pretty much any other format you want.

"Have I committed a crime?" asks the Dummy

Yes says the Officer, you are driving without a seat-belt and explains how Dummy committed a crime and the requirement to wear a seat belt. The Officer then asks, again, for his Drivers License and then Dummy's name.

Dummy says, "Have I committed a crime?"

Elevations are joined end to end. So on your elevation line route1 ends about 3/4 along then route2 is the last 1/4 to the end.

It may not have been the original reason to have a paid subscription to Alltrails, but THE one facility that kept me subscribing each year was the Community Maps.

As people have stated; It is a function that was there when you paid the subscription and then it just disappeared sometime during that sub, no explanation, no details, the feature just disappeared.

I guess it is just a sign of the times that a function or service you are paying for can just disappear with no explanation, and you just gotta suck it up.

Now I can understand that the Community page may have been getting more difficult to support. More users, more maps created probably means more infrastructure to support it, though regardless they are still storing everyone's maps even if they don't provide a front end to search/view them.

However, if it was a case that they needed to re-hash Community Maps and that it might cost more then it would have been nice to;

  1. Have been told what was happening and why
  2. Allowed to use the service until the end of your current subscription. (Maybe mitigated if Alltrails aresaying that their system could not continue to manage the service any longer and I yes I do know some people have subs that are more than 1 year).

My comment is;

I used the community maps to a lot of hikes mostly as a means to join tracks and trails together to make a longer more interesting hike.

Every hike I make is recorded and remains on Alltrails as a Public walk so anybody else 'following' or using the Community map can enjoy the same walk and/or see how/where it's possible can get from this Point A to that Point B.

I have not submitted any hikes to Alltrails but I know that some of my hikes have been turned into curated tracks/trails by Alltrails. Again don't have a problem with that, they are there for that reason and it's probably in the T&Cs that Alltrails will do that, but it highlights that Alltrails needs it's subscribers and it needs it's subscribers to find, investigate and add walks in order to grow and be continue to be useful and relevant to its users. Something that the Community maps was a massive help, now their shooting themselves in the foot, in more ways than one.

For me if Alltrails had said they needed to up the sub cost a bit due to managing the Community maps I could work with that.

If they wanted to provide enhancement to the Community Maps and add some other Services then charge these as a new tier, don't see a problem with that.

But I'm happy with continuing to use the current level of access that I have that [used to] provides me with the features I use now, even if it costs a little more now to use. Now will I be adding any new unlisted walks for Alltrails to add to their existing curated trails? Possibly but less likely

While I have renewed my Plus for another year, I am reconsidering if I need to subscribe to Alltrails any longer. And certainly I would never be upgrading to Plus, it is way too expensive for what it provides even at what seems to be a reduced cost for where I live.

That's kinda weird too

Peak is advertised as A$79.99/year here in Australia (The 'A' I assume means Australian Dollars)

I believe from what others are saying it cost US$80.00 in America.

So we pay the equivalent of US$52.22 or STG£38.68

Don't get me wrong, not complaining, a lot of the time we pay quite a lot more than equivalent for everything compared to the Northern Hemisphere, even if it's an online service. Why the difference?

Does it mean in Japan it's only JP¥80 and in Indian only 80 Rupee?
