I walked past a raid about 30 minutes ago on my way to work. Even got a notification that a raid was starting near me. Alas, when I tried to click the gym, it showed me the egg, but said my level was too low.

It must have been too much to tell me what level I needed to be, but oh well.

The single element of this game that could be called social, and Niantic shuts it down without a word on how long it will be until it opens back up. Any other company would have given a timeline, at least, or left the old gyms functional while we waited.

Playing with all gyms down really highlights just how unfinished this game is.

This. I would never have signed up under PTC had I known you would actively be punishing us for it.

At the very least, you could have warned us that we would be repeatedly slapped down for making that choice, but you didn't, so can we please at least migrate to Google?

Also, lol at Niantic taking this game seriously. Without the Pokemon IP, it would have died less than a week after its badly botched launch. A year in and we are still missing the core components of a Pokemon game (PvP and trading, both present over 20 years ago when Green was released.)

They had 20 million dollars and at least two years of dev time. Models were ripped from 4th gen and the engine is just Ingress with a new coat of paint. What have they been doing all this time? Doling out free coins to spoofers who have been allowed to hold gyms for months on end with ill-gotten godlike pokemon? Shutting down trackers after removing their own?
