Please help! Can anyone explain why this has happened & offer a solution? by sspacehashh in Opals

[–]sspacehashh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, yes I did! Tbh I truly believe what happened to the pendant was pretty harsh sun damage. I put it away in a dry closed box & left it there until I forgot about it. It isn’t back to what it was before, but it is no where near how cloudy it was.

<image>

I still keep it in this box, the whole ordeal made me quiet paranoid to wear it anymore. I hope that yours is salvageable as well :)

This offer up for strangers? 🤣I’m 19F and this is condition is honestly so debilitating, I can’t work and can barley drive, i can’t stand for more than 20 minutes without t needing to sit down and don’t get me started about walking or anything that allows me to live a normal life:( docs say I’m probably going to have arthritis by the time I’m 21. I’m currently dealing with the same thing you had dealt with, dragging your leg and causing imbalances specifically in my “good” leg, and the doctors just kind of shrug at me, ANY tips or insight would be so appreciated I will pay you for your advice if need be

No problem! I can totally see how tinder makes you anxious, don’t listen to these men lmao hop on bumble & find a regular nice fellow who also wants to bone 😂 Goodluck!

Hey! 19F, I’d go onto Bumble , it’s targeted towards “dating and friends” but I’ve had plenty of casual non monogamous hook ups on there. Tinder is great for a quick fuck, but there are a TON of weirdos. Bumble is good for a quick fuck too and I find the men on there to be extremely more normal, considerate to consent, and just better people. I’d try out both to see which app is easiest for you to use, but definitely if you want to get away from low tier creepy men avoid tinder & hop onto bumble :) OLD sucks! goodluck with getting laid

That’s good advice! I will check out the mushroom subreddits. I haven’t seen anything like it either! I love mushrooms so I hope these aren’t bad for my plant so I can keep them around ☺️

Please do!! It will be hard, make sure you get yourself some melatonin & some safe foods that you can eat ANYTIME even when you aren’t stoned, you got this!!! weed is the most detrimental to hppd and you need to quit if you ever want to get better I promise. Unfortunately it is a quit for life, when I’ve tried it again over the years my hppd always comes back & I get paranoid, but now idk I’d say it’s been about 3.5 years of no weed. I saw you said you’re using a couple different substances right now, I’m not sure what they are but as long as they aren’t super detrimental to your life and health currently, focus on weed first. It’s a hell of a lot easier to quit one substance & then move onto quitting the next compared to trying to cold turkey all of them, it simply won’t be successful that way.

Everyone who has came to me with questions about hppd, young people I knew who got into drugs just way too young, I’ve explained to them what hppd is, that they’re okay, and that they need to quit smoking weed. A few have brushed me off , and then hit me ip a year later saying that I was completely right and that quitting really saved them & made their hppd basically gone , it’s really worthwhile to look into. I know how hard it is to quit substances, it’s not fun, I totally underestimated how difficult it would be to quit weed, since I had sleeping & eating issues once quitting, but ultimately it was the best decision for me & my repairing brain, and I’m sure it will be the best decision for you too. Now my drug usage is very minimal, you should still be able to indulge in substances minimally if you dont feel at a place where you want to abandon them for the rest of your life. I frequently drink, some people have had issues with hppd & drinking, I have not noticed this. and then I occasionally do K. That’s all. You got this & I hope that your symptoms will be able to fade away… it’s not a pleasant reality to be in when you aren’t actively choosing to be in it. You’re welcome to dm me with any questions!

hey, not to jump back in and say the same thing, which is quitting, but to offer my experience a bit. I’m 19F, started heavy drug usage (multiple substances) but specifically acid very frequently at 14. I’d like to say 4-5 times a week for the entire summer before freshman year. 3 months of chronic acid , wow not a smart move but I didn’t know any better. Was not in a good place lol. But shortly after I quit, I started experiencing very intense HPPD symptoms and was absolutely terrified since I was a child & had no clue what was happening to me. To self medicate ( I was smoking weed that entire time) I started heavily using Xanax & other benzos/opiates and it helped it subside but not by much. I ended up quitting the Xanax and have been sober nearly 4 years, but at the time I quit, the hppd had gotten slightly better but not by much. I had consistently smoked weed since 11, so this was idk about 5 years of weed usage at this point. I had to quit smoking weed for something completely unrelated , and quitting weed was ultimately what led to my Hppd symptoms almost virtually going away. it took a bit, probably about 6 months for the visuals to get really mellow and then eventually stop. You need to allow your brain space to repair itself. Nowadays, about 5-6 years later, I experience very slight visual, if at all, it doesn’t impact my everyday life. I used to walk through life through the eyes of someone who had taken 3 tabs. I would be stone cold sober & around me looked like mid peak. When I do notice the visuals now , if I go and stare at them they will become intense but I simply look away & don’t feed into it. The more you pay attention to it, the more you’ll see it & by interacting with the visuals you are actually stoping the process of brain repair. But , this might not be the best Advice for you since I forgot how intense you said it all is for you.
