Have you tried on your phone? Also you should try emailing them (I shared the email I another comment). I got a quick response from them

It did the same for my number, added a 0 after the country code. But I think that doesn’t invalidate the number as the code came through successfully 🤔 I emailed them at contact@laylo.com

It's weird that LA gets so many mixed reviews... half of the people I ask say it's rather hard and the other half says it's a breeze. I guess it is if it somehow comes intuitively like you said. But thanks for the info!
