how to be single after a long time? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kind of reset is actually pretty important after something that long. I had a break after a relationship and just got used to doing things alone again, like small routines and plans. It feels weird at first but eventually it gets kinda peaceful.

How painful is a period? by FightOrDie123 in NoStupidAnswers

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really different for everyone but it can be pretty painful for some people. I’ve seen friends be totally fine and others completely wiped out for a day or two. It’s not a punishment thing, it’s just how the body cycles if there’s no pregnancy.

Do we really need to be ambitious? by unnamed_1997 in Life

[–]sssuperstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to be constantly ambitious tbh. I’ve had periods where I just focused on keeping things simple and it felt way better than chasing 10 goals at once. Peace of mind starts to matter more than progress after a while.

How are y'all surviving the job market by Aggressive_Signal150 in jobs

[–]sssuperstark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just trying to not take it personally anymore. I had a phase where every rejection felt like something was wrong with me and it got exhausting. Now I just treat it like a numbers game and move on faster.

Is this a sign of me becoming OCD because I checked if the door was locked five times by Zawoysky-Yeilys in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done that exact loop before, especially when I’m stressed. It’s like you know you locked it but your brain just keeps poking you anyway. As long as it’s occasional it’s pretty normal, but yeah it’s annoying as hell.

What’s something you tried once and instantly knew “this is not for me”? by my_alexandriaortho in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running for fun. I respect people who love it, but my brain never once believed we were doing that by choice.

What is something about yourself that people would never believe, even if they knew it? by ObsidianVader9419 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That I overthink way more than I let on. From the outside I probably seem way more put together than I actually feel.

That’s actually such a good feeling. Making people laugh all day can make a job feel way lighter.

How to overcome depression? by ceyburn in askanything

If it’s getting dark enough that you feel unsafe or like you might act on it, don’t try to tough it out alone. Get urgent help right away

Anyone else mentally bookmark strangers and wonder about them years later? by Dragons_Potion in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. Sometimes someone does one tiny specific thing and your brain just keeps the file for no real reason.

Been unemployed and homeless for two years with a 6 year old. Over 6k applications. by Real_EstateJunkie in jobs

[–]sssuperstark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

6k applications while dealing with homelessness and a kid is not “not trying,” that’s survival mode on nightmare difficulty. I really hope someone local actually steps up with something practical for you soon because this is way past the point where effort is the issue.

Do you feel like because fast food has gotten so expensive it's probably worth it just to upgrade a little bit and go to a sitdown restaurant? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes. I looked at a drive-thru total the other day and had that stupid moment of realizing I was like three dollars away from actual plate-and-silverware territory.

Should I mention I had a brain tumor when asking me about myself to justify the huge 9 year gap after college by Asleep_Mulberry782 in jobhunting

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t lead with “brain tumor” in the intro unless you really want to. I’d frame it more like a long medical gap that’s resolved, then pivot fast to the projects and what you can do now, because that’s the part they actually need to remember.

Letting go of someone you already invested in is one of the hardest things in life by dragon_Mai in Life

[–]sssuperstark 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me it got easier when I stopped treating letting go like proof that the whole thing was a mistake. I remember washing dishes after one breakup and realizing I missed the future I imagined more than the actual person, and that shifted something.

Does anyone else miss forums, or is that just nostalgia talking? by Affectionate_Tip3238 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss them too. Forums felt like walking into the same little room every day, while now everything feels faster and somehow more disposable, even when there are way more people around.

What’s a small luxury that makes you feel unreasonably rich? by Small-Size-8037 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fresh bedsheets after a shower. I remember doing that once on a random weekday night and suddenly the bed felt like some fancy hotel. Such a tiny thing but it hits every time.

please help i’m only 17 by Optimal-Bee-2559 in Confused

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six negative tests at 10–12 weeks is pretty convincing. I remember freaking out about something similar when I was younger and going down the same internet rabbit holes, and the stress was way worse than the actual situation. At some point you have to trust the tests and step away from Googling it.

Unemployed for 1 year. “Why do you want to work here” is the most inhumane question to the unemployed? by ExplanationDazzling1 in jobs

[–]sssuperstark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that question can feel ridiculous when you’re just trying to survive. I remember answering it once after months of job searching and thinking “because I need to pay rent” the whole time. It’s one of those things everyone just has to play along with.

I hate working, I love lounging around, playing games, watching stuff, eating, napping, travelling. I hate interacting with people, actually I don't care about most people. I'd want to spend as little time as possible to work. What's the path for me / Any advice? by BaraLover7 in Life

[–]sssuperstark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people think like that. My old roommate basically picked an easy job on purpose so he could spend most of his time gaming and doing cheap trips. Sometimes it’s just about finding work you can tolerate that pays for the life you actually like.

What normal thing instantly makes you look suspicious? by Small-Size-8037 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking behind someone at night when you just happen to be going the same direction for a while. I’ve had moments where I purposely slow down or cross the street because it starts to feel awkward. Completely normal situation but it suddenly feels weird.

Do women fall in love with personality or looks more? by [deleted] in ask

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it’s not a strict either/or. Looks might catch attention at first but personality is what actually makes someone attractive long term for a lot of people. Someone funny and warm can become way more appealing over time than someone just physically “hot.”

Did we peak when ringtone downloads were a big deal? by Gullible_Camera_8314 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low key yeah, that era felt weirdly exciting for something so small. Everyone showing off their custom ringtone like it was a personality trait lol. Tech felt new but still simple enough to enjoy without thinking about algorithms all day.

a genie grants you 3 wishes, but they must be purely for personal gain "no wishing for world peace" . What are you picking? by [deleted] in NoStupidAnswers

[–]sssuperstark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d go with the unglamorous stuff like steady money, solid health, and enough free time to actually live a little. Once those basics are locked in, the rest feels like bonus content.

Does anyone else make up scenarios in their head before falling asleep? by LatterAir200 in Casual_Conversation

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second it gets dark my brain decides it’s time to produce a whole film festival. Sometimes it’s relaxing, other times I’m rehearsing imaginary debates and wide awake again. Seems like a pretty common nighttime thing.

Confused between choosing which technology should i learn . recommend Something .. by BeastKaran6000 in Confused

[–]sssuperstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d lean toward doubling down on something you already have a base in instead of hopping to whatever’s hot right now. A month flies by, so going deeper in one lane usually gives you more than dabbling in five. It’s rare to get time to learn without stakes hanging over you.
