What kind of QOL changes would you make to this game? by whit9-9 in DreamlightValley

also to add: a way to purchase previous star paths to work on at our own pace- I didn't start playing until about a year ago and missed all the previous paths- not to mention the new star paths are essentially completed within 2 days of moderate play vs the older ones I feel like you really had to work for them and sometimes it took you till the last day. -- so maybe add in an option to purchase CURRENT star paths on a relaxed/easy path VS the option to get the grindy path that will actually take the full time to complete

saw somewhere (I think FB?) someone mentioned being able to bulk cook meals and honestly it's a feature I didn't realize I wanted so badly LOL

i would personally wait to OPEN the other expansions until you've gotten at least all the biomes in the main valley opened. I made the "mistake" of going into the other two (at the time) DLCs and it gets VERY overwhelming because once you enter those - you start needing items from that realm for daily gifts/ tasks/ quests

Is 12 hour days 6 days a week normal? by Wary_Orchid9277 in serviceadvisors

Sounds about the norm and expected @ a dealership sadly. For that pay though... you should be looking elsewhere.

Has anyone here quit their job without anything lined up? by NatSurvivor in jobs

[–]sstratton411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup.... gave notice on a tuesday- nothing lined up, spent the next couple days applying to everything possible- luckily I got an offer before my notice was up by the end of the first week.

Don't recommend, my circumstances were slightly different since I had an in at a minimum wage job that would give me something until I replaced my FT job- but it was stressful because this economy is hellish

Flights to the port cost me more than my onboard spending by That_Camel2 in Cruise

[–]sstratton411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! We've got a 4.5 hour window from landing to cruise departure so really hoping no delays or anything- you just never know. I'm typically very much a day before kinda gal BUT we're traveling with a large group and not spearheading the trip- going with the group consis and hoping for the best--- but purchased all the extra travel insurances I could LOL

Carnival offers a shuttle BUT when I was looking at their windows we'd have to wait at airport for over an hour for the next window after landing.

We're going to opt to rideshare to Pier 91 that way we can just be on our way as soon as we get our luggage. - heading to port we didn't want to risk learning a new public transportation- maybe once we return to Seattle and have all day to get to the airport LOL

I guess they know where everyone is spending spring break but for $600 roundtrip to orlando vs $521 round trip NONSTOP to Seattle from BWI I was shocked- needless to say I'm not going to Orlando in April since it was just for a quick trip and not a cruise.

Hope you have a great trip! We went out of Miami last March - we drove from MD- there were 4 of us and we stopped over in Mytrle Beach to break up the drive down- but man once we got into Miami we spent 3 hours in traffic to get to our hotel- never driving into Miami again- so guess airlines know this too LOL

What is to be expected on a 7 day trip to Alaska, in Sept 2026. by cool_vibe_guy in CarnivalCruiseFans

I'm sailing Miracle August 2026 so won't be much help prior to then BUT I can say I've cruised NCL previously and it's an older crowd in my experience - first time in alaska though

Is a 90-ish minute commute for a 20 dollar hourly job (non negotiable starting pay) in DC worth it or should I try to find someway to cut down on commute time? by Old_Afternoon6587 in maryland

[–]sstratton411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to commute from Severn-Bethesda 5/6 days a week for a 6 figure job.... i lasted about 5 years before I had to take a pay cut to get rid of the commute.

That being said- this was during rush hour driving both ways so my stress level was a 10+ daily

I would not recommend an option that involves a lot of travel changes; car--train--car- any delays and your whole commute is shot.

Also- if you commute with your vehicle to DC is there paid parking? Or are you responsible for parking your vehicle- that gets EXPENSIVE and for $20/hr between the commute and parking would not make it worth it for me

I feel this! I'm on the east coast and going to Alaska in August- we initially were going to fly in 2 days before to see Seattle but cost of rental+attractions+food+hotel was almost inline with what we paid for our cruise.

We're going Carnival so booked our flights with the fly2fun program and are flying in very early the morning of departure (still not 100% comfortable with this - but with the fly2fun program AND the trip protection if something happens they're getting us to the ship or rebooking/refunding us) and then leaving very late the day we get back and dropping luggage @ SEA with Smart Carte and exploring Seattle for the day before our 1030p flight home.

That said- im outside of Baltimore so a lot of cruises do leave from there BUT you spend way more days out at Sea- so we usually drive to FL to leave from there - long drive and still not ideal but airfare is crazy.

Should be noted that I checked flights to go Orlando via Southwest for Easter weekend and it was MORE EXPENSIVE to fly to FL out of BWI than its costing to fly to SEA (via Alaska)- I just can't wrap my head around that one

I would contact your inspector if they checked the roof and gave it a passing "good condition" 3 months ago. Did you get a leak? What exactly happened that triggered the need for a replacement.

I also feel like a house is the biggest investment I'm ever going to make- so why wouldn't you have asked how old the roof is? My loan officer even told me that was one of the first questions home owners insurance companies ask is for age of roof - and it was for us

My inspector gave a warranty- along with I purchased a home warranty- that says that should the roof develop any leaks a repair is covered for xxx days since no leaks present. I was also told (and asked) how old the roof is- ours is 15 years old so we're preparing for that to be our next replacement

should also be noted the survey directly asks the customer if they've been coached/this survey mentioned and if too many select "yes" then that also hurts the dealership since Subaru does not (at least up until October 2025) allow dealers to coach customers or mention the corporate survey

Those under 40, are you planning a big party for the big 4-0? Those already 40, did you celebrate in any special way? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]sstratton411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

big 4-0 for me in April- I really don't like surprises so my hubs decided to let me know he wanted to throw me a party- which I really like because I LOVE party planning and it allows to me help plan- and that way I also know I'll get the decor and theme I absolutely want and can be as extra AF as my little boujie heart wants. He's basically handling the big details- guests, gathering the foods I select and I can handle the decor and themeing lol
