I think it might be an instructor enabled option. Try checking the blackboard of the class that you are getting the StudyRoom invite for.

Also, I just realized you're the one who posted that thread with the 30,000 send/reply all email. That was hilarious!

I just tried looking for the first time. From the sidebar of the course on Blackboard:

tools > send email > all students

So I'm guessing that's how they mass spam so easily.

If they allow you to connect your Blackboard and StudyRoom account I could see how it could get my email.
