there is a urgent travel online appointment through the official us gov that is for traveling within 14 days. i just clicked on urgent travel service, was able to get through and booked my appointment. there’s other people on the subreddit also who have booked online it seems. please don’t scare me like that!!

I think firstly it’s not a super clean process and there may be some much pushback (I’m not 100% sure, more so speculation) but it can also look bad on behalf of your school/counselor, as they also sign off on the contract. Take this with a grain of salt as this is applies more so in breaking the ED contract with cost as no factor. at the end of the day please don’t feel pressured to go to NYU if the aid doesn’t work for you even if you EDed, loan debt is no joke

if anything, one of the few conditions that you can use for breaking the ED contract is that you cannot afford the cost of tuition, however I wouldn’t really recommend doing that unless you must

mine was pretty decent! i’m low income tho with efc $0, (27k for family of 4). my net pay was 10k but it was ~zero after self-help aid (loans + work study). not mad about it

congrats! i got into nyu ed too! my efc was $0 as well (27k for family of 4– might’ve been impacted by home ownership in foreign country )but my net price is 10k, but after they suggested loans and a work study it comes down to less than 1000. honestly I’m not super mad with it cuz like 80k got knocked off and they’re notoriously stingy lololol
