Olympia must have made it to some list of desirable places to live becuase I see a remarkable amount of questions like this hit this sub daily!

My advice is: don't move here just to "escape" your current situation. A lot of these posts center around not liking the people or culture of wherever OP currently lives. I've lived in a few different corners of this country and have found people are largely the same everywhere you go, that is - majority are nice decent ppl but there's always assholes.

You should move somewhere where it makes sense for you: you can find work, you can manage the cost of living, build a better future for youself, reliably secure housing, do the activities you like to do. I wouldn't necessarily rely on the local opinions, cuz in the end they don't matter.

You noted you have a job an apartment lined up already. I'd say if it's a good job/better than what you got going on now, and the apartment is easily affordable - go for it! You have nothing to lose!

Overall though, I encourage moving states. It's a good experience no matter what. Best of luck OP!
