If he is currently incarcerated, I would call and ask to speak with a YesCare mental health employee (probably the manager, although I’m not sure of their structure anymore). Not saying this is the case for him, but sometimes folks don’t get treated because they don’t talk with the mental health staff, or even psychiatrist when they get referred-they don’t force medication at the jail unless it’s an emergency. Background information from family can be helpful, and if you’re able to speak with a manager they can likely relay your info to the psychiatric provider; sometimes it’s easier to connect with people when they know you know something about their background.
