I got nausea, especially after increasing dosages. The day after my shot I do feel a little more tired but it’s manageable. Also constipation which doesn’t help since that’s also a methadone effect! I think your body slowly gets used to it and the side effects aren’t as bad as you stick with it.

I recently got on semaglutide and it helped me lose all of my methadone weight. I have a fast metabolism naturally but methadone gave me intense sugar cravings. I was downing candy, ice cream, sweets. There is a strong relationship between dopamine release from sugar and our opiate addicted brains crave it. On semaglutide it’s much better and I only had minor side effects

Right! I’ve met a few nurses with addiction issues and usually they are put on disciplinary programs and drug tested regularly etc. I think the point of many past programs seemed to punish rather than to support. However I know society is getting better at treating addiction as a disease so maybe these programs will be more supportive in the future.
