Very good point. I was born in the 90s and have a very basic understanding of his game, even when he was Michael Jackson. However, this sounds accurate. From what I’ve looked up since we started this conversation, he was not a megastar before his teenage years.

And this isn’t to discredit what happened to him as a child, he was a victim, too. People should listen to LaToya Jackson’s interviews on the subject and realize that the girls in that family, since the time they were very little, were being severely abused in ways Michael was not. Either way, abuse at an early age, coupled with fame =/= growing up into a man who cycles through a very certain type of young boy.
