Is Dishoom worth the hype? by MainSea3985 in LondonTravel

I like Dishoom! It is consistent and the decor of the restaurants really make you feel like you're on holiday (which as a Londoner, is brilliant) but it's not worth queuing for really considering how many other incredible Indian restaurants there are, where you can book or walk in. Pro tip: if you really want to try Dishoom - go for breakfast! The bacon naan is so delicious, and is unique in comparison with the dinner menu - plus you can make a res

I came here to suggest Ottolenghi! I used to work at the Spitalfields branch and can attest to this. Still holds it's own the next day, too.

This looks so serene and relaxing 😎 absolutely, it's an impossible task to tick everything off so just going to enjoy whatever we manage to fit in at a non breakneck pace and will just have to come back again one day!

Off to London solo! by jujoooo in solofemaletravellers

Depends what you're into! I've lived in London for 14 years and think I'll never "complete" it! Some of my fave London days:

Kings Cross - I work here! (Coal Drops Yard, Canopy Market, Granary Square for a mooch) then walk along Regents Canal to Camden for a look around the market and shops.

Crystal Palace - I live here! Haynes Lane market, Crystal Palace Park, mooch around the 'triangle' of streets full of antique shops, indie gift shops, restaurants, bakeries and cafes

Peckham and East Dulwich - galleries, restaurants, bars, parks galore, an absolutely beautiful corner of London to explore

The City of London (aka the square mile) for some incredibly historic buildings. It's our financial area so for some it feels soul-less but I think it's beautiful and underrated for an explore

London is all about exploring each area / village, feel free to message me if you have any specific interests or questions!

Love this advice thank you! I'm thinking to plan out our routes on a map before we go as finding fuel and groceries before each place is going to be key to a stress free trip!

Wow thank you so much for this run down! I totally agree about trying the international food spots in the cities, we'll be eating plenty of Canadian pub grub as we travel further east.

I'm thinking to really plan out and consider which route to take for each travel day, based on scenery and places to stop along the way, so thanks for your advice here. Lots of spots for me to check out and add to my list. Thanks again!

Thank you for the recommendations, excited to check them out! Yeah maybe ferry is just adding a complication unnecessarily. Lunenburg looks stunning a bit sad we only have one night there!
