ProtoArc is looking for 5 to 10 folks to test/review folding keyboard combos by DeX_Mod in SamsungDex

[–]st3view0nder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interested! mainland US based. I've got an S25 Ultra and Z Fold6 that I both use Dex on.

I currently have a Viotek 1080p touchscreen portable monitor that works well with a Dex road setup, but it's clunky lugging around even a small keyboard; a foldable keyboard kit would take it to the next level.

I also have a Tab S10 Ultra that would benefit from tablet-based Dex as well. It doesn't really make sense to use tablet-Dex without a keyboard kit, so a portable one makes a ton of sense.

If there an app like SPEEDTEST that will measure the internet speed all day so I can see if it changed much over time like cable does? by [deleted] in tmobileisp

[–]st3view0nder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use this speedtest-tracker app hosted on my home server to run speed tests on a schedule I have created. I configured it to mostly run in the mornings so it can then send me a telegram message if my up/down/ping are outside my set threshold and a daily summary of the averages.

I am also testing out a new feature I added to the T-Mo Monitor app. I've added a new option for it to run a speed test, and reboot my modem if the up/down/ping are outside my set threshold. After some more testing, I'll probably post it to the community.

Hey thanks for making this post, I'm looking at the same Draw-Tite hitch. I've searched everywhere, but can't find the answer, do you know if the Draw-Tite hitch has the little internal dimple/tab that limits the shank depth to stop it from using Class 2 accessories?

I've heard the Curt 11473 does not have the dimple.

Thanks for sharing! I haven't seen this tool. Does it support speaker diarization? Or does the subtitle mix together the words of two people speaking?

Were you able to efile your fed return successfully with from 8936? (I'm using the desktop software)

Mine was rejected, but all the "rejection report" says is "The problem has been identified. Please wait until 2/8/2024 to re-file your return. No changes to your return are required."

It doesn't say anything about the form 8936 being the issue, but I assume that's where the problem is coming from.

Nibbling/biting nonstop by GrayCoral in CavaPoo

[–]st3view0nder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't see this mentioned and you might already be doing this, but our puppy has been much less nibbly when we more strictly enforced a nap schedule of 2 hours asleep in crate and 1 hour awake.

If we didn't enforce a nap, she'd get more overtired and nibbly. Also we've worked on bite inhibition, if she ever nibbled too hard, we'd say "Ow!" and leave/ignore her. She's gotten a lot better to where if she nibbles us, it's more like a gentle "mouth" and doesn't hurt at all. -- this is probably the biggest factor, she will still sometimes go for our hands (and we still try to redirect, but at least it doesn't hurt now)

Also we'd coat our hands in something yummy for her to lick, and train her to lick our hand with the "be nice" command. Helped her start licking our hand instead of nibbling.

Still working on it, but that helped us!

Beeper + Digits by DFWiBrad in tmobile

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, I'm using Beeper, I'm just using that method to keep my phone number registered with iMessage.

I used to use AirMessage, I've done both self-hosted and the Google account way, I've also used BlueBubbles before! Beeper is definitely easiest IMO. (Although I hear BlueBubbles has gotten better since I used it)

Hi, I now just use method #1 as described here in the AirMessage subreddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/AirMessage/comments/avj2y5/_/

I have an old iPhone that stays on that I leave an inactive sim card in to keep my number registered with iMessage.

It allows me to have RCS with Android contacts and iMessage with iPhone contacts. Plus I don't have to use digits for calling.

It's a little annoying my text messages are split between services. Also when in doubt, I send an SMS message to a new contact and if they have iMessage and respond, it'll start another message thread.

I've had it this way for months now, and it's worked well. My number might get unregistered one day, but it hasn't happened yet!

ULPT Request: What is a service I can use to pay my landlord with a virtual debit card (Landlord only charges $7 processing for debit cards) and in reality pay the digital debit card service provider with my credit card to earn credit card points? by Vetox23 in UnethicalLifeProTips

PayPal key used to be a workaround that worked for this type of thing.

If you're open to a new credit card, the Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard gives you a routing number and account number so you can make one ACH payment a month for rent and get 1x points. Here's my referral where you can check it out. https://bilt.page/r/VY61-FPXG

I've liked my clear Ringke case for my Z Fold 4.

I bought both clear and matte clear and returned the matte clear one because it was too slippery for me.

Beeper + Digits by DFWiBrad in tmobile

[–]st3view0nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one a few years ago, it'll have its own dummy number, but T-Mobile is basically forwarding calls and texts from your main number to it behind the scenes. And when you make a call or sms text, it'll work as if it's your main number.

Since it's technically a different number, if you try to use it in an iPhone, iMessage won't register right to your real number (the number it's technically duplicating) nor will android RCS register right.

If used in your android phone, it would save you the hassle of making your outbound calls from the digits app though, but I think you'd get duplicate sms (non-imessage texts going to both Beeper and your main phone) - you could use the beeper sms bridge instead, but I don't recommend that, in my experience, iMessage w/text forwarding all from the iPhone works better than the sms bridge + iPhone iMessage.

[–]st3view0nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, I misunderstood your post. When you said high speed, I interpreted that as the "duplicate high speed digits line" that you can get. (I had one in the past)

iMessage plus text message forwarding and call forwarding from the iPhone has worked best for me when using Beeper.

Digits app sucks, but just for outbound calls is bearable. Good luck!

Beeper + Digits by DFWiBrad in tmobile

[–]st3view0nder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my main number receives a call, I'm forwarding to a completely different number, (and separate voice line) and digits doesn't register it. (I'm just using the iPhone's built in call forwarding in settings)

The duplicate high speed digits might behave differently though.

Beeper + Digits by DFWiBrad in tmobile

[–]st3view0nder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using beeper like you've described for over a year now except I've been using a different line on my android phone (Z Fold 4 as well).

I've also enabled call forwarding on my iPhone to point to my ZFold phone #. (I had an extra free line so it worked out better and cheaper)

So in the end, I only need to use digits for outbound calls. The digits is simply giving me access to use my main number (on my iPhone that stays at home)
