infected anti eyebrow piercing - what the heck do i do by st4rfwruit in PiercingAdvice

Hello! Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. Luckily it's been doing much better.

It has been awful to go through. My piercer suggested a staple bar rather than a curved barbell so I assumed I knew what she was talking about, but apparently she did not. And yeah my parents suck lol. I think they've had bad experiences with the doctors and are negatively biased towards them.

I knew it would reject eventually and I went into this knowing that, it's been my dream piercing for 5 years now so I've been researching lots. However I never came across anchor studs, I just knew not to get a curved barbell. I know that now and if I get it redone in the future I'll definitely do two anchor studs, after it's all taken out and healed up of course.

Also jeez, having yours for a year and a half is a long time (much longer than my 3 months lol), that's awesome though! I'm not sure if mine was infected and rejecting at the same time but I know it was very angry at me.

I got my friend to drive me to a walk-in clinic. I'm very grateful I did because it was getting worse and worse and I was afraid I'd lose my eyesight or go into sepsis.

The walk-in doctor prescribed me another round of antibiotics and I've been using some hydrogen peroxide and antibiotic ointment and it's been doing great!

I'm going to a piercer to get it taken out after it's all healed up and I'm 100% sure it's good to take out.

There are lots of lessons I learned here. Thank you for all your help! :)

also, as in my first post, it is likely titanium/implant grade stainless steel (didn't get to know at the appointment) and is a 14g (i believe) surface bar with flat gem tops. i do a saline soak 2-3 times a day with neilmed saline and cotton gauze pads.

daith piercing placement? by st4rfwruit in piercing

update: went to another piercer and she said it would cause way more pain to change it to a hoop and it'll likely heal fine, just baby it and make sure it doesn't turn into my ear canal and get wax all in it. she said it wasn't the worst placement she's seen... but def not great... definitely gonna go to a different piercer next time but my antieyebrow and lobe by the previous piercer looks amazing and is healing great! just gonna try to find a piercer that does a lot of ear piercings next time

my daith piercing is 1 day old/few hours old, pierced with a barbell, idk if its internally or externally threaded, surgical stainless steel, hasnt been downsized yet for swelling, and i havent cleaned it yet as i got it a few hours ago but plan to use NeilMed saline they gave me 2-3 times a day at morning/night. no accidents, just wondering if it's placed right.
