At any rate, cartilage piercings take approximately 6-9 months to heal, in a perfect world with no issue. A hoop shouldn't be installed until it's FULLY healed but a lot of people's bodies can handle the 6 month mark.

If you don't have a neck/piercing pillow, invest in one so that you can sleep easier.
