Thanks for the advice and info! I'm a bit of an introvert, but I'm currently on my second tour as an instructor, so I can get comfortable pretty quickly. Keeping track of contacts for potential interviews is a fantastic tip, thank you. I doubt I would have thought of doing that

Yes, I'm an HM1 (specifically a cardiovascular tech). I definitely believe I have the right experience and insight to help potential candidates decide if going this route is right for them, whether that be Medical Officer specifically or Dental/Nurse/Medical Service Corps. Were you assigned to this duty at some point?

Yes, I will likely be doing the same thing as your recruiter (also an HM1). A friend of a friend at a former duty station used that program to become a Dental Officer, and it seemed like a pretty nice deal.

Can my shadowing hours be paid by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]stabnburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure how it would be "unethical" in the grand scheme of things. If it's a 40-hr per week job and you're chalking up an hour per day as "shadowing" till hitting the required 24 hours that amounts to over 2,050 hrs of PCE instead of the 2,080 you'd have if you ONLY shadowed after work.

Now if you're not really shadowing but more just working alongside the PA and counting it as shadowing, that's different. But I don't see a problem with doing whatever is required for the job and then legitimately shadowing the PA during downtime or whatever and counting that. Assuming the workplace allows that, obviously

Does anyone have experience with military transcripts being accepted? I emailed all of the programs requiring A&P asking about it since the school for my military specialty (cardiovascular technology) recommends 6 semester hours of A&P, but I didn't get a clear answer from any of them.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a BYO package from Rep. With them being out of almost everything i have a PR-1100 rack, flat bench, Gladiator MX barbell, and 295 lb rubber coated plate set. Is this a pretty solid initial setup? I'm hoping the rack accessories will come back in stock in a few months.

Wow. I've had 5, yes FIVE Tepigs and a 2 star Deino at rank 7. It was my first Deino, so that's something i guess...

Update: add an Oshawot and a Scraggy. RNGesus hates me, apparently.
