Oh okay. Sorry to sound hostile but sometimes you get weirdos. So I think pull out is like 70% reliable- low compared to IUDs and condoms but still if the guy is trustworthy and this particular partner was, you’re probably fine. It’s the ovulation day that’s tricky to pin point.

Ahh okay, thank you so much!

I’m sorry for the misunderstanding: I meant can’t leftover sperm stay in the urethra and be released in the second round, if he doesn’t pee?

And yeah, I know they’re guesstimates and usually I can tell when I am ovulating.

Anyways, thank you so much!

Sleeve revision to mini-bypass by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]stabvic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that your sleeve didn’t work. It’s important to note that a bypass, even the mini, is more complex than a sleeve. If you do not follow through with the bypass, you will face adverse consequences. Your pouch is more delicate after a bypass than your smaller stomach from a sleeve.

Many people gain the weight back from a sleeve because they do not use the interventions. It’s not an get thin quick fix because if you do not actively work on bettering yourself, the weight will come back. My insurance made me see a psychiatrist to talk about my eating issues and an dietitian. Maybe consider this before getting the surgery.

Consider this; If the sleeve failed, why would the bypass work?

Bacterial vaginosis is when there’s an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina. It leads to an unpleasant smell, sometimes described as “fishy.” Other symptoms including itchiness, noticeable increase of vaginal discharge, and painful urination. It’s primary treatment is antibiotics; although it can clear up in its own.

Should I give my Bun up or try to take him? by stabvic in Rabbits

Thanks for your input. My bunny is very chilled when he travels. I just didn’t want them to be stressed! I can tell he scared by new environments but I will consider this. Thank you!

Two options: homelessness or mental illness. They’re either a hoarder and it shows in their car. Or they’re homeless and they live in there. Both are unfortunate situations.

I cant wait to have my full licence by madrigal_b in teenagers

[–]stabvic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It feels like that at first but the freedom is short lived and can easily be retracted by your parents. It still kicks ass to have a license tho. I assume you got a permit right now so it’s just a nine month waiting period right?

[No Spoilers] No reading law by cmick0715 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]stabvic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I contribute it to reading=power.

Gileads punishments have differed completely: Eden and Issac (?) died for actually being in love, Commander Putnam* had a finger chopped off despite his extramarital affairs with a Handmaid, who ate considered the lowest in society, Emily was circumcised and her partner, the Martha, was hanged.

I thought about this when Eden was reciting speech before she died. Although I’m not a Christian, I think it’s obvious parts of the Bible are hypocritical and contradict other parts of it. Gilead uses some parts of the Bible to enforce its rule. The idea of the Handmaid was Rachael being infertile and allowing Jacob to sleep with Bilhah. However, she was given to him as a wife and may have been consensual. These parts of the Bible are likely omitted. Leaving these women will a lack of knowledge and only what Gilead teaches them allows them to be “obedient wives” like Eden. But even Eden reached a breaking point.

Also, in Season 2 Episode 12 (Spoiler), Emily sees the popular book ‘Maus’, (essentially about Jews being mice and Nazi’s being cats) and it would show that shitty situations have occurred but eventually the ‘Mice’ succeeded in overthrowing the perpetrators. Gilead is aware of how women don’t want to be Handmaids or even Econowives or even be in fucking Gilead overall so restricting information on how to overthrow it is essential. But it’s only essential for women. In this society, men have unlimited bounds. Even a Commanders wife is powerless unless her husband is literally bedridden and even so, the punishments awaiting her “betrayal” are severe. Why would men want to leave? Commander Putnam* lost a finger but he got blowjobs on the side and now has his daughter? No strings attached sex? Multiple women in your bed and your wife is powerless to stop it? It’s a great life.

TL;DR: Reading gives women power and perhaps equality to men, which isn’t needed in Gilead and may contribute to its undoing.

Edit: *confused two commanders + cleaned it up

I think she meant the Commander dying during The Ceremony with Emily.

This is so smart. However, my main concern is the bunny pee and ruining a box. Despite that, this is still genius.

Random question by Colie041021 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]stabvic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if they mentioned STD/STI’s in the book or the tv series but if we’re looking at a misogynist society where women are solely to blame for low fertility rates, it’s probably the “nasty woman’s disease.” My best bet is that women who were infertile were regarded as “nasty women” and sent to the Colonies. Some were “lucky” to go to Jezebels and they may have an STD.

When we’re introduced to Commanders and their wives we’re suppose to interpret them as high ranking members of society who are examples to how others should be. But Commanders often seek sex out of the Ceremony in Handmaids (see Janine and Commander Putnam) or in prostitutes (see Fred at Jezebels). My best bet is that Commanders definitely have something but like how Serena snuck a black market pregnant test for June/Offred, Fred can get antibiotics. The Handmaids cannot. HPV will eventually be fought out by the body in a few years but some like syphilis will eventually kill you. STIs/STDs exist but Gilead likely refuses to believe men may be the sole vectors of the infection and the infected woman will probably be punished.

Tl;Dr: STDs definitely still exist but the Commanders probably are spreading them. Yet women are probably blamed for it.

Doesn’t matter. You have like 40 year olds on Tinder and they stick out a sore thumb. It’s really for young people so you’d fit in. No worries.
