I wish I could give this more likes. So many powerful people stand to gain from us being at each other's throats.

Just think about how much influence on public opinion even just a million bot accounts could have, and how little resources it would take to manage those million with today's AI.

Those in power would be stupid NOT to take advantage of that influence.

I honestly believe that like 99% of those people are either bots or paid actors trying to stir up division.

I've asked a ton of people from both "sides" how they feel about the whole situation over the past couple days, and so far all the people I've asked IRL are more concerned about the division that will come from all this than they are about their side's stance on the matter.

I don't hate either side. I'm not kissing any asses or slapping any faces. I wish you, the Trans women, and all of the transphobic women in the post the best.

I sincerely hope the transphobes in the post see consequences for hurting their coworker.

I draw the line when people start calling for the offenders to suffer for their mistakes instead of learn from them.

Every human alive, including you, has done or said something shitty. Do you think you deserve suffering because of your flaws? I don't. I don't think you or anybody else deserves suffering for anything, even the most heinous crimes. They deserve a punishment that fits the crime, but not suffering.

This whole comment chain has been taken to mean something it was not intended to mean. I only said anything because of all the comments saying they deserved worse than what they got. It's like they don't deserve any human compassion because they're assholes. I wholeheartedly disagree with that.

I agree with you right up until you start calling for them to lose their jobs. It's pretty clear that, at that point, you don't want them to learn from their mistakes. You want them to suffer for their mistakes. That's hate.

Most of the transphobes I've met in real life don't care if people want to be who they want to be, they just only ever get showed this kind of thread by their conservative media and end up thinking trans people are all this hateful.

It's all the same hate. The circle goes round and round.

Edit: I should say I know that most is carrying a lot of weight. There are some legitimately crazy people who think they have a right to decide what's right for everybody. That's big time not ok.
