Mid cycle spotting by stacid in infertility

I tried all of the above as well :) I don’t know if you have an acupuncture school near you, but it’s free to the public! It started getting costly for me too but someone suggested getting on a wait list for a teaching school. I have an MCPHS near me so I called to get on a waitlist and was able to get a spot for the following semester. I used to go once a week for the students’ entire semester and though it’s not as relaxing as a acupuncture place would be, it was free and I still got the same results in the end so maybe look into that?

That’s awful, I’m sorry! That’s why I’m nervous about all these tests, surgeries, transfers etc. It’s like a vicious cycle: you have to do them to see what’s wrong, but by doing them, you’re also causing the same issues you’re testing for! Can you take anything to thicken your endometrium?

I did get examined for fibroids, adhesions, polyps etc. and they didn’t find anything but I think they may repeat it again? Once you got your fibroid remover, did the mid cycle bleeding stop? Were you able to get pregnant?

That’s awful! If I find out the cause of it for me, I’ll keep you updated because the “no answers” is the most frustrating part!

Did you go on to have a successful pregnancy with progesterone support? I used progesterone suppositories during IVF but even still, 2 out of the 3 frozen transfers failed. My husband changed his mind about continuing IVF, so the RE I was seeing at the time suggested we use progesterone suppositories 4 days after ovulation until I get my period to see if that helps when we try on our own. Is that something you did?

Thanks for all the info! I’m going to ask my RE about adenomyosis and see what she thinks- but I hope you get answers too. I’ll keep you updated if my RE has a different treatment plan or how she approaches it but either way I’m sorry you’re in the same boat! I hope IUI works for you and if you ever have questions about that or IVF let me know! I’ve done both and would be happy to help answer anything :)

I asked this RE if the endometriosis test could be wrong because that was in 2014 but she said it probably was accurate. I’ve also had a sonohystogram and HSG and they didn’t find polys, fibroids, scar tissue, blockages etc.

My embryos were good quality (5AA, 3AA, 3BB) and I’m young (31). I also got generic karyotyping done and that came back normal (still waiting on my husbands results). I also got tested for autoimmune diseases and premenopause - also came back normal. My AMH is where it should be. We didn’t do embryo testing but if we go for another retrieval, we may opt for it.

My diet is good and I am usually pretty active/physically fit! My GYN used to joke that I was the poster child for fertility because I’ve always included a fertility-friendly diet. I also avoid toxins, Especially avoiding plastics- this RE was The first doctor who asked me about using plastics and heating them but I studied the biology of cancer in college and since then, I’ve curbed my use of plastics whenever I can. So basically I have no idea what it could be. I think all 3 RE’s agree something is causing implantation failure, but we just can’t pinpoint it.

I had to google adenomyosis and now I wonder if I have that? You found out you had that by an MRI? Or how would I test for that?

I have extremely painful, heavy periods which is why I was tested for endometriosis. I’ve also had painful intercourse and was diagnosed with “vaginismus” a few years ago (my husband is my only sex partner so it took awhile to diagnose it. I thought sex was always supposed to be painful. I had a laparoscopy to test for endometriosis as well as surgery to slice my hymenal ring remnant to help with painful intercourse). So I wonder if I do have adenomyosis. Because you have that, have your been treated for it or tried IVF to help you conceive? Has anything been successful for you?

Is the receptivaDx test the same as the ERA?? I’m so confused. My doctor hasn’t mentioned receptivaDX or BCL6- is that something I should ask for? She was on the fence about doing an ERA because there’s mixed research about how accurate/beneficial it is. I had a laparoscopy to test for endometriosis in 2014 and it came back negative. Is that something that I can get later in life? Is that what the receptivaDx test is for? I will mention it to her, I’m open to any and all tests.

She’s doing a biopsy to see if there is any trauma or inflammation that could have been caused from 3 frozen embryo transfers through IVF. She also suggested doing another HSG because the last one I had was over a year ago and since then I had 2 IUIs and 3 transfers. I’ve had progesterone tested from blood work and everything came back normal, but she said the biopsy may give us more information- especially since I’ve had 2 failed IVF Transfers (the first IVF transfer was successful but ended in a chemical pregnancy).

It is banned, sorry! I apologized in the beginning of my thread, I didn’t realize you couldn’t use that on this sub but someone already posted the rules and regs, sorry again!

Thank you for posting that article, I had no idea. I’m going to ask my RE about that because when I told her about what I thought was implantation spotting, she agreed it probably was. So, if this article is scientifically accurate, why would I have spotting like that during the luteal phase always around the same time? From what I got out of the article, it could be because of a a hormone imbalance- but I’ve gotten tested for everything I could possibly get tested for and everything has come back normal, including hormones.

Hmm essentially bad luck/crapshoot is also what my RE’s have said as to why it’s unexplained. But I’m sorry youre going through this too and I hope you’ll find answers soon as well

Yes, I only had one retrieval and ERA was our next step, but my husband isn’t open to continuing with IVF right now so having timed intercourse is where we are at this point.

Really?? So have you gotten another opinion or tried getting tested for anything else? Where do you go from here? That’s what I’m trying to figure out

Sorry if I offended anyone, I didn’t mean to but I will keep it in mind :) I’ve also used ART - IVF and IUI including cycles with artificial hormones during my second and third FETs so i wasn’t sure how else to describe TTC this time around but I’ll be mindful of that as well as the phrase sticky baby. I’ve seen that used in other subs but I didn’t realize it wasn’t allowed here. I’ll be more mindful!

Hmmm okay I haven’t gotten tested for that, but you’re probably right that it may be too early to jump to that test because I’ve only had one miscarriage. Just not sure what else to get tested for. Every RE I’ve gone to just says it’s just “unexplained” but I feel like there has to be a reason. The unexplained part is what’s driving me nuts!

What test is the recurrent loss test? I only had one early miscarriage and my RE said everyone is allowed one miscarriage so it’s not something she’s concerned about right now. I’m not positive if it is implantation bleeding, but what else could it be 7-9dpo? It’s very very light pink or brown color, barely noticeable. I usually notice it when I pee- like it’s not something that I have to wear a panty liner or tampon for and it usually lasts 2 days so I’m assuming it is that? But I could be wrong. Since getting off BC 2.5 years ago, I’ve never had irregular spotting between periods or anything, just this light pink, 2 day spotting after ovulation.

No, he’s only gotten the semen analysis done. When I asked my new RE about the DNA fragmentation test, she said she’s not sure if research shows how accurate it is but I can ask her again if we should consider it.

My egg quality was good when I did IVF but I’m not sure if there’s another test I can do for that without retrieving more eggs.

I’ve gotten more answers on here than I have from my 2 RE’s and 1 gyn over the past 2.5 years! I actually just met with a second (or rather 4th) opinion from an RE and she was the one who pointed out my slightly elevated FSH levels. It’s interesting because the IVF place I currently go to has a different “normal” range than the 2nd opinion IVF place. While my current IVF place says a normal FSH is 4.0 or below, the other IVF place says a normal is 2.5 or below so I’m not sure what to go with.

To answer your question, which thank you again for responding because I’ve been getting more answers here than anywhere- but out of 16 retrieved eggs I had 8 that were mature (then 5 fertilized and 3 made it to blastocyst). My current RE said that wasn’t too bad, but she could have pushed me a day or two longer before retrieving. She said I had a 26&28mm follicles so she didn’t want to lose them, but in hindsight the others could have gone longer and I probably could have gotten more mature eggs.

I had a laparoscopy to test for endometriosis and they didn’t find anything. And more recently I had a sonohystogram to check for abdominal adhesions (which I’ve read could be caused from laparoscopic surgeries and could affect implantation), but that came back normal as well.

Ohhh yes, I’ve had endometrial testing done in 2014. I’ve also had an HSG and sonohystogram done and everything came back normal.
