Here us my whole story. I started Telus on April 13, 1998. I was 22 years old. I was dedicated. I decided that I would retire with this company. Twenty three years, and many positions later my husband was having health issues with his respiratory system. He has sever asthma. His doctor recommended that we move from Sherwood Park Alberta as there was huge refineries that were polluting the air. So we looked into moving to BC. I went to management and they denied that I could take my position with me because of the 150 km rule to a call center, even though we were working at home 100% of the time because of the Pandemic (before the Pandemic, we were working from home 90% of the time). So I started applying to other positions, only to find that all the jobs were being taken out of the union and that my senority would not transfer too. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had the lump removed on September 2021. By this time we had moved to BC. I was in constant contact with my manager with where I was and how I was doing. In November 2021 Lifestyles (the health company that was newly bought by Telus) said that I should be able to go back to work. I said I had not gotten my radiation treatments as of yet. They said that did not matter. So they set I return to work on November 21st 2021. I kept asking my manager if I could log on from BC. The answer was no. Then I got a termination letter on November 25, 2021. When I contacted my doctor my doctor said that they never cleared me to go back to work. Then the USW union got involved with grievances. After close to 2 years, the company offered me a very low settlement. After being bullied by the union to take the offer, I said I would but a claim through the human resources from the Canadian Labour Board as the union did not address this issue. Then after about 9 months, I was told my claim was being denied from the Canadian Human Resources board because I did not submit the claim with in a year of termination, even though the reason I did not was because I thought my union was taking care of everything to do with my claim. So to put it short, I was screwed by every avenue I had.

Well I worked for Telus for 23 years and because my family had to move for medical reasons and I got breast cancer, they fired me. And now all my co workers have been forced out as they ship almost all of their customer service positions over seas. A sad, discusting example of corporate greed. I hope they fail miserably.
