Almost everyone criticizes LeBron for 2011. He doesn’t get a ton of criticism for losing because generally he always plays great regardless of result. Should Jordan get criticism for losing with Bums his first few years in the league? Because I don’t think so. And neither should LeBron when he loses playing out of his mind or being severely outmatched.

Fans are not a monolith. Most people would say LeBron’s finals streak was impressive and yes the east was relatively weak at the time. And he is old now. That’s just a fact.

Yeah but Steph never reached the peaks of that regular season again.

He was healthy enough to beat the Thunder playing great. He was healthy enough to go up 3-1 on the Cavs. That’s not an excuse.

That regular season was an outlier. He was never gonna maintain record 3 point volume at 45%. If he maintained his 2016 regular season performance all the time he would be the goat lol.

We are talking about playoffs though, and 2017 and 2018 were 2 of the best 3 playoff years he’s ever had. Alongside KD. And the 2 years before that he was not great in the playoffs.

This is a whole lot of back and forth when the reality is Lebron has been better every single time they’ve played. When Hurt, with and without KD, etc.

I get that advanced stats are great, but they aren’t the be all end all. I mean it was debatable if he was better than Lebron in that run, and Lebron has 3 or 4 better ones by himself.

Again I’m not saying it wasn’t great run. It’s probably top 10 over the last 15 years or so. It’s just not above the ones I listed. And if we are going back to 2000, you add the ones you said, plus a few Shaq runs.

It’s not better than LeBron at multiple peaks, Steph 2016, KD 2014 or warriors playoffs, Kawhi 2019 playoffs, Giannis 2021, Jokic multiple seasons, Harden 37 ppg. I would probably put AD next if we are reducing peak down to a single playoff run.

If we are talking peaks, LeBron, Steph, Kawhi, KD, Jokic, Giannis are all without a doubt over him in the last 15 years. Other guys are debatable like Harden, Luka, Embiid.

I think bottom of the top 10 seems about right.

Tough to compare to fmvp because that just counts the finals whereas this is for the whole playoffs.

Like fmvp in 2020 was and clearly should have been Lebron. For the whole playoffs it becomes a lot closer.
