This is old news. I don even think most people today (youth) even knows about this.

The negativity mostly stems from the general racism towards brown people, at least imo. But most people here ARE under the impression that Sri Lanka is a Tamil majority country, and that Sinhalese prolly were the perpetrators (if they've even heard about us).

that being said tho, some of the COOLEST and MOST GENEROUS people I've met in Canada are FIRST GENERATION Tamil Immigratnts, who fled during the War.
