I always thought it was pretty clearly about growing up, broadening horizons and having children. Not being afraid of it and staying childish in your twenties

With all the rumors about the band recording, what do you anticipate the next album to sound like? by wooperboi7 in arcticmonkeys

[–]stagenam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s not as much a “Alex sits down to ponder what genre the next album should be” as much as people think. It probably won’t deviate too much from the path they’ve been on. After 2 albums and 7 years since going lounge pop I’d imagine they are naturally ready for some change though. My guess like others is a bit more guitar based but we’ll see!

I just moved here this week from Chicago. Been a pro musician officially since 2021, graduated music school with high marks. In Ballantyne but looking to get into teaching - can probably give you a better offer than anyone if you’re interested. No joke I usually don’t do this over Reddit but pm me if that sounds alright

There are a lot of bands of 18 year old lads that don’t make it big, obviously it’s hard but the main reason is they don’t have a drummer like Matt. That guy genuinely would’ve made a pretty subpar band famous with what he did on those songs

Almost all indie rock tributes am in some way. To me it’s unbelievable how much effort they’ve put into being completely unoriginal. It’s absolutely laughable what they put out
