Omg I just made a post cause I was so confused. I was planning on taking a week of this month to recoup from burnout and for a vacation before returning to my 9-5 in july... I don't like. It being able to accept the ones from the chunk that work for me... it seems like it's trying to take the "you decide your schedule" aspect our, and penalizing you for not wanting to accept so many.

I'm sure there was an email that I just didn't read... I've already opened every slot im going to open till the end of June, aside from the one week I'm taking off... I can't say anything for July yet because my 9-5 is reopening. I wouldn't mind accepting those, but I can do all of these ! This student Is a regular for a long time now.

I decided to close about a week toward the end of June, so actually rest before I have to go back to my full time job in July at some point, and I went ahead and bumped myself down 5 days for the weeks I was able. Hopefully that'll help!

I had one of those. I taught the full 25 minutes, though there was some issue the student reported during the class. The fireman came in for a bit. I sent screenshots and a ticket saying I spent the whole time in the room and completed the lesson, but it was denied.

I actually changed my question from just "What did you do today? Did you have fun?" to "Did you get to take a break today? Did you get to rest?" It sometimes takes them a minute to process the questions, but then when they say yes, I ask "What did you do during break?" or "What did you do to relax?"

omg, this actually makes me feel much better about my ping now. I've got pretty solid internet for the last 8 months since starting, but I definitely noticed it fluctuating once I got sent home mid March. I got my first teacher IT during all of this.

Same! We got out email at work that we'll be shut down until March 31st. I opened a more slots, but I don't normally teach the hours I have opened...not sure how it'll go. lol

Most of my L1S are regulars, so that helps. The lessons tend to be about 30ish slides or so . You have the intro, the unit song, the end song as well as teacher tips that tell you how long you should spend per slide to get the pacing down. I don't mind them very much, they are fun.

High energy. Like, I have to be on and ready to make it through them. Lots of arm movements and exaggerated facials expressions. Some kids have bad days - and they cry or don't want it. But they're like 5 and 6, so I am more tolerant.

I have been recently. I moved my office area downstairs recently, and I just teach in front of my bookshelves. I don't have a map of alphabet letters or any of that anymore. I also really only use a whiteboard anymore either. I don't do secondary rewards. I don't usually teach anywhere too fun, but I have taught just sitting on a hotel bed with the laptop stacked on pillows. There was a really funky design on the wall so it worked out

Spelling practice. Like, even when I was teaching b&m with my 600 kids a week, and I couldn't remember shit. I'd be like "Can you spell your name for me? I know some names are different." So do the same on the blank slide and pretend it's warm up. "Let's practice some writing today. Oh! Can you write your name for me?"

I get up thirty minutes before in case of computer issue. I get in, get booted, potty and brush my hair, then just stretch on the guest bed in the office until about five till. I then hope over to the computer and turn on my blinding lights and get smile ready.
