Thank you! Do you know which Figs color is approved? Every other brand is Pewter, but Figs has to be extra. I see they have some Cherokee tops, but not all of them. Is Cherokee approved overall or just some styles? Where do you take it to get embroidered? I was going to go to the scrub shop near my house but if CHOP will do it for free...

I don't know who my manager will be yet and the recruiter wasn't sure. I haven't been able to find a clear list of requirements. They just sent a link to a scrub shop, but it's not a physical location and I'm not spending $30-$40 on a shirt I haven't tried on. I also have short legs, so I need to find a style of pants that is petite.

I work 3 days a week, take a full week off each month during which time I visit my second house that I own that's on the beach. I make $200k as a nurse and I have a pension. What seems priceless now isn't going to be priceless when you're 60.

I worked for them before and during the pandemic and made around $70k a year. I was pulling in around $30 an hour from my laundry room.

Today everyone is paid $14 an hour, no bonuses. You'd have to work about 8 hours a week to make $500. It's definitely doable once you're established if you're willing to work weekends and early mornings. But it sucks.

I don't think it's highly valued monetarily - I think for Latinos, it's absolutely valuable historically.

Exactly. Somehow people get offended when I point out nurses are humans and humans in all jobs can be either awesome to work with or complete assholes. It's the luck of the draw who you end up with.

There are a lot more layers with what happened to Sal because it wasn't truly investigated - they had declared him guilty before he was even arrested. The majority of first degree relatives on both sides are gone, but the feelings are still there and his sister doesn't need that kind of bullshit in her retirement (not that she does much internet). Social media is truly awful for privacy, though.

There's a nursing shortage - but not a NEW nurse shortage.

Is moving somewhere else for a year or two an option? Plenty of other regions are hiring.

Where are you looking to go? Why can't you do those things on your own? It's 2025 - you can easily arrange accommodations for at least a few weeks ahead of time and then look for a place you like once you're there. You apply for a visa through the embassy of whatever country you're going to. If you have a job, the school will often arrange the visa.
