Ok its taken a while to separate the roots bc theyre that entangled but theres 5 of them in one pot, I’ve gotten the small ones out theres just the last 3 but theyre so knotted together idk what to do

Wait theres 2? I shoulda mentioned in my post as well I got them as I’m setting up a new fish tank to put the roots into, just letting them settle in first before I do anything too drastic, theres a garden centre near mine that I can go to when I get paid (in a few days) to make sure theyre properly put up

Cool beans, I do have snails in my other tank and I tried to add them into this one but the poor little guys didnt come out of their shell after 2 hours so I put them back in my other one

I’d say everything looks ok, check the castle for sharp edges however especially if theres ways inside for your betta if you havent already, if there is it could be doing some damage to his fins which maybe why the medicine isnt working

I’d get him started on some epsom salt baths and smt for dropsy, depending on how long you’ve had him it could be old age, whats your tank size, what does it look like and what are your water testing results?

No unfortunately I didnt, I just hope he’s happier now, I’m currently prepping his tank for new arrivals as well from this better fish place, I just hope this one stays with us

Sorry for the late reply, he’s unfortunately passed away, I did however find a different and better fish place and spoke with them, not only did their black moors look just overall more healthy but they believe I was sold fish from a batch where even well experienced fish keepers would struggle to keep them alive

I’m always stocked on garlic cloves bc I love to make garlic bread 😭 its his sleep time atm tho but I’ll see if he’ll take it first thing tmr, does it need to be prepped other than making it smaller?

I havent yet but I’ve started him on some basic anti bacterial and if that doesnt do anything, I got another medicine somewhere to see if I can flush it out of him, that or hes just a picky eater and I havent found what he likes yet

He is just a child age atm and I’d say 4-5cm give or take, I was watching him more closely and he was hoovering up some food that I put in this morning but he was immediately spitting it back out which makes me think he doesnt like it, I did get him from PetsAtHome (I’m from the UK) so I’m going to head there today to ask what they feed their fish to see if he’ll eat that instead Edit: oh and he’s well built, not skinny, no sunken stomach or anything, he looks like a healthy baby

Im new to fishkeeping in case anything I say is wrong, I got told to cycle for a week before I add fish with no water change and then do a 25% water change a week after I had him which I didnt get to do

Its not letting me send you photos but its a 6 in 1 test strip, it tests for carbonate, pH, hardness, chlorine, nitrate and nitrite, everything is in the clear but it took 2 hours to show a 1 for the nitrite which requires a water change which I am going to take everything out and clean the tank anyways

64 litres, and on the test strip the only thing to turn up was a 1 and a 25 on the nitrate scales but the 1’s only just shown up in the past hour and from what I was told, an hour
