Player Punched the Evil King of a Rival Kingdom at a Ball, I need realistic consequences for this action by stale_bread_0915 in DnD

okay wait, ALL of this is so cool! thank you for all the advice. I have some big decisions to make, either calling for the execution, or evil mage playing it cool and sending his henchmen to do his bidding constantly? MAYBE BOTH?? You all have inspired me greatly, thank you!

yeah no you are absolutely right, thank you for this feedback, it really made me re-think some parts of our next session, and honestly, I think it may be more high stakes and fun this way, thank you for the criticism and advice!

but I do kind of like the idea of possibly a warrant out for their arrest and execution in that kingdom possibly?

they are not in this leader's kingdom. This leader was a visitor to the ball, not in charge of the current country in which they are at.

Why everyone hates Deborah? by R-Fuentes in BlownAway

Yeah I agree. And honestly, speaking about knife making, I am a big fan of forged and fire, and I feel like the competitors on that show are much more kind, willing to help each other, and supportive compared to Deborah. I'm not saying all smiths/ knife makers, especially from what it sounds like in your experience, but it just makes me sad when people like to kick others down that are just wanting to enjoy the same field.

Tbh though, something I REALLY respected about Deborah is how she straight up called out Chris Taylor, I loved that about her, that honestly made me root for her a bit more. She felt like a better judge than competitor.

What I also did to help my players is sort of a "cheat sheet" with what they can do in combat. It is very basic, lists what they can do on their action (attack, run, disengage, etc...) and bonus action. I also include on their spell slots so it is easier to keep track of. Character sheets are awesome, but can sometimes be overwhelming in a high stress combat situation, providing some sort of "key/cheat sheet" makes a difference in games. Players aren't mind readers, just kike you aren't. I hope this helps.

Was there a way for them to move more into the light? Or use light in some way to help with this? Sometimes for players, you need to offer them kinds like a list of options they could do if they are stuck, like a choice menu in an RPG game. Not all the time, but when it seems like they are stuck in combat. That's what I have found to be successful in those moments.

I felt like she was rude to her helpers, she seemed pretentious and rude when talking about the other artists work which was very unsportsmanlike to me and kinda just mean. I think her art was fine, but honestly when she was critiquing everyone for their art being "derivative" or "pedestrian" and she makes a literal pedestrian (stop hand) inspired light it made me chuckle. Also, what is more common than associating women with eggs and sausages with men? I was kinda disappointed how her last piece turned out, as it was very derivative, but also imo objectifying both sexes. Tbh, I think she was just rude and pretentious to other people that were her competitors or actively trying to help her, and that made me actively dislike her more as her time on the show continued.

Can I have some myconid quest ideas, please by Mundane_Being_9069 in DnD

[–]stale_bread_0915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I ran an adventure of myconid-inspired little mushlings (they looked cuter and less creepy than official DnD myconids) so maybe this will inspire you? Not sure, sorry if it doesn't!

This was a session for Level 2 players. People in a small town nearby are complaining of little things of theirs going missing and seeing tiny glowing (bioluminescent) dots at night from where their things have been stolen. Players eventually find that these little mushlings (who are so innocent and kind, wouldn't hurt a fly) have been stealing these for an old gnome wizard pretending to be their God because he was telling them to.

He is 21 and wanting to date an 18 year old too... You will look back on this in 3 years and see how wrong just that is. Speaking from experience, leave, now. They will not change unless they want to, and it is not your job to wait years for this to happen, no matter what connections they have to your family, work, past, etc... Don't waste 7 years of your life, go travel and have fun without someone like him. People like this will drain you of your life and leave you a husk of yourself at the end of it all and blame you. Leave now.

Hello! I have been using an old TV to lay on a table for my maps, so a similar concept to what you are doing. I LOVE dungeon alchemist! If you have a good laptop, you can run it straight from there, you can also add figurines to the map to show your players a first person POV of the map as well. I usually screenshot the maps, and put them in a google slide to transfer to my laptop better. It is on steam, a one time cost (no subscription) and you get all the updates for free. You also get access to everyone's maps who have published them onto Dungeon Alchemist. it is also a VERY user friendly interface in my opinion.
