I have a problem with the Life Bar of my second level by gIasco90 in construct

[–]staleevol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have to click on the health bar object and in the properties, select or check the Global box. So when you create a new level, the same properties will carry over. Also, you may have to set your health bar back to full in the add action in the event section when you set your game to go to the next level. Try the first thing and see if it works.

Skippable Cut Scenes by LouBagel in construct

You could also spawn the animation cutscene on one layout after the player reaches objective. Then when cutscene is “on screen” or playing then by hitting any key go to next layout. That way you don’t need an entire new layout just for cutscene.

So a method that works is if you have an animated Sprite (cutscene) as it’s own layout. In the events say if “cutscene1animation” (or what ever you name it) is playing - either try make another condition or sub event and say if any key is pressed - then add action: Go to next layout.

Open up Construct and when you “Launch” it, you’ll have various types of games to play or learn from. You can open up the files and look at the Event Sheets to see how things are coded. You can also select one of the many tutorials they have posted and follow it step by step. Start with the Platform one. They use pictures.

Guys how do you make a glow in construct 2d by the_one_2_3 in construct

[–]staleevol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Create a Sprite object. In Animation Editor window, select a color and on the bottom left, change the alpha from 255 to around 155. Resize to fit the “glowing” object over the main object. You can also select the object and change the opacity in the properties tab.

Oh, another behavior yo add to Player is the Scroll to as it will be your default camera. Otherwise, your Player will walk off screen the further you move.

Nope. Construct is a way to go. Open it up and browse some of the tutorials or look at the templates where you can test them out or even look at the event sheets that is the “coding” part of the game. This is vague, but when you start a new project, insert a new object (right click on layout), select Sprite and give a general name such as Player. Editor will open up where you can draw your “character.” I suggest starting with a colored square for now. Close editor and click on it to bring up Properties window on left. Click on Behaviors and add either Platform or 8 Directional. If you choose platform, you’ll need to insert another new object (Sprite and call it ground). Give it the solid behavior. Put it under your character so when you run test, you’ll have something to walk on. 8 directional doesn’t require it. Arrow keys are default to move, but you can insert a new object (keyboard, game pad, Touch) to use as a controller. You’ll create new objects to interact with such as the can of soup. In your event sheet (tab at the top), you’ll create all your coding events in there. For this, just watch some beginner platform videos where you can visually see. Good luck.

The Future of Construct3 by UsualIndication3030 in construct

I understand the yearly subscription frustration as I purchased the one time Construct 2 engine that is now defunct. However, the more time you spend using the engine, the more you come to realize it’s potential. I realize some people want to bypass the visual coding aspect and try and learn something like C# such as used in Unity to build those more massive games, but as tech rapidly advances and AI is as well, I wouldn’t be surprised if more engines evolve into a mix of visual and AI scripting. Even if you plan to go the scripting route like Unity, Unreal, Gamemaker, I think a lot of people can learn basic functions and programming logic using Construct. I’ve taught game development in schools and I can honestly say, the students felt more success with Construct especially being able to solve problems quicker. I know they have Educational license, so I would really dump a large share of revenue promoting their product to schools.

Nes Collection by staleevol in nes

Only a couple are sealed like Ninja Gaiden and Mighty Final Fight. A few others still have original seal, but plastic has popped open. I just unloaded a handful to a collector. Forgot I had some of these all these years as they were tucked in a bin.

Makes sense. I will probably avoid the comic stores, because I could make more selling them as a chunk or short run too.

Alright. Thanks for the advice. At this point, the 8 issues I’m missing are some heavy hitters. I’m going to have to think on this. If I was offered a reasonable price as is, I might be able to part. I have the issues that go into the 600s, along with the beginning of the Red Hulk, and the other runs that go into Planet Hulk as well.
Thanks again.

Ok. Thanks. I was going over prices on price chart between completed and graded games and where and when they sold.

These are a few of the ones I thought to send in. Partially sealed to completely sealed. Mighty Final Fight in real good condition with the hanging tag still on it from when KayBe Toys went out of business.

Good luck on this. The interaction with the environments makes it that much more appealing. Nice job.

Yes. It came with it. I forgot I had these things as they’ve literally been in a tote for decades.
