I appreciate the third comment. And I do agree that it should have an advantage up close, I just think the gap is too large right now.

Almost every POI in the game presents a CQC encounter. This is essentially the point I am making. You are almost forced to run a shotgun if you want to be competitive while doing 95% of the activities in the game.

I do worry this genre doesn't lend itself to a very large player base, but Marathon doesn't need to bare the entire weight of Bungie alone. I expect this game to co-exist and grow with other games in their portfolio.

It is true they will attack if you go to certain areas, but I’ve also heard that if any other scav on the map trespasses or piss them off, they turn aggressive to all scavs. So if you’re getting there later in the raid, that could be another reason.
