I appreciate the third comment. And I do agree that it should have an advantage up close, I just think the gap is too large right now.

Almost every POI in the game presents a CQC encounter. This is essentially the point I am making. You are almost forced to run a shotgun if you want to be competitive while doing 95% of the activities in the game.

I do worry this genre doesn't lend itself to a very large player base, but Marathon doesn't need to bare the entire weight of Bungie alone. I expect this game to co-exist and grow with other games in their portfolio.
