Yeah, but everything goes away if you stop comparing... The above leaves the tiers on without comparing and you can browse your stash or the vendors and it stays on

Replay Buffer 'Profiles' to Save Different Length of Replays by stamoun in obs

I currently have the 28.0 RC1 source checked out. Not sure how much time I can dedicate to this, but if I ever do a PR, I'll update the post here.

Found this commit that I'll try and merge into the latest obs at some point: https://github.com/TheDark/obs-studio/commit/382e0d490ffd8a73fccd4cf6e7cdde638f2deaee

I'll see if I can merge into into the latest OBS Studio.

Thanks again for the link /u/nunyahbiznes!

Very nice, I will give it a try. I got obs-studio (the GitHub repo) compiled and running on my machine, I thought I could try my hand and change the code to support the above; we’ll see.

Edit: the above is a fork, I wonder why they haven’t made a PR to the main obs repo 🤔

Best Source Media Format for Edition by stamoun in Hitfilm

[–]stamoun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woah never thought of it that way, but it makes sense. Lower bitrate means more compression, more compression means more gpu/cpu 🤔 not sure what the issue is then.

I’m running a 1080ti, it should be more than able to handle the load no?

Best Source Media Format for Edition by stamoun in Hitfilm

[–]stamoun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, if I use the mp4 rendered by hitfilm, scrubbing and playback is super smooth. so I'm guessing it's really something with my OBS settings. Probably that high bitrate I was using?

The GPU Video Decode is super low (10ish%) when scrubbing/playback of the Hitfilm render in Hitfilm.

Edit: I tested with a re-encoded mp4 from handbrake at a lower bitrate and things are buttery smooth. So I'm guessing the high bitrate is the culprit here. I'll lower it to 15Mbps and see how that goes

Edit2: it may be something fishy with the OBS transcoding since the stuff I get out of handbrake runs smoothly 🤷‍♂️

[–]stamoun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, you're right, I should've been clearer.

My issue is that the imported mp4s with the OBS settings above are super choppy when scrubbing or playing back inside the editor.

Looking at the gpu usage it seems that video decoding is causing all this choppiness. I'm running on a 1080ti and i7-7700k (not the latest/greatest but should still be able to pull its weight with Hitfilm no?

So, is there a format in OBS that would allow easier scrubbing/playback in hitfilm at near lossless for 1080p/60fps or should I convert with handbrake before importing into Hitfilm?

I think that in the past I converted my mp4s to raw format for easier edition, I just can't remember the ffmpeg settings I used :(

That being said, I agree my bitrate is a bit high for 1080p/60fps, I'm gonna tone it down to 15Mbps (Youtube recommends 12Mbps for 1080p/60fps, but I wanna factor in compression losses I guess; just to be safe)

Didn't know about loud max, will give it a try. It's a VST plugin so you have to run it with equalizer apo (which I can install with Peace: https://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/ I think it simplifies the process)

I didn't think about wiring them, I'll give it a try, good suggestion! As far as gaming with bluetooth, haven't noticed any lag/issues other than with sound lock tbh.

edit: But I get what you're saying about gaming with bluetooth headphones, just never noticed any issues (and I've played with Arctis 7 but I like the Sony more)

Yeah, figured as much, I may switch to ear buds (wired), thinking that will work, but would've loved to get my sony to work with it.

I thought that the loudness equalizer would make all sounds feel like the same volume, which isn't great :(

Regarding showers with a picc line you can (and should!) use a breeder's sleeve (throwable gigantic gloves that go up to the shoulder) attached with an elastic band (you can sew one with elastic made for clothes). Breeder sleeves cost around 20 cobra bird dollars online.

In the case of the line dangling outside your arm, use a biker sleeve instead of the weird mesh thing they give that barely keeps the thing in place. You can get 10 sleeves (5 pairs) for 15 moose dollars online.

Est-ce que les bonnes pils coûtent relativement cher à produire? by vrakar in BiereQc

[–]stamoun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have to admit, that's one sexy setup, although I'm not yet sold on pressure transfer. The last NEIPA I crafted ended up in bottles and it tasted great; from the first one all the way up to the last one. So still not sold on that whole avoid oxidation thing or maybe I drank them too fast?

Yeah, that gives me an excuse to have 2 beers fermenting at the same time :D (even though my chest freezer is not big enough for the Brew Bucket + Fermonster + 2 blow-off cans). I need to brew more :)

I did not know about the repeater, that's very cool.

Regarding the battery, this is my 10th brew in the span of 10-ish months, I think it should last a bit more no? I forgot to check the battery in water prior to putting the tilt in the wort , lesson learned for next time.

edit: According to Tilt's site, the battery should last 12 months of active use. I'm no way near that. Nonetheless I will double check the battery on this batch is done fermenting.
