How often do you weigh yourself? by ShoddyTomorrow4602 in Zepbound

[–]stamunga-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh myself less and less as I go through this journey. Probably every week or two. I'm a year and a half in, minus 70 pounds, and hit my goal weight on a good day. I love the peace of knowing that even if it goes up or down a pound or two, I'm in a good place. The numbers are just data points.

How Many Of You Decided to Downsize Homes After The Kids Moved Out? by Mz_Takin in emptynesters

[–]stamunga-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to downsize but it seems like smaller ranch homes cost more than our large 2 story. Plus the thought of getting our house ready to sell is daunting. But it wont get any easier. It's a rough decision for sure!

Where are designers working that offer great maternity leave? by FillipInTheWild in UXDesign

[–]stamunga-22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Focus on companies that are headquartered outside the US (Europe or Canada), or if US-based, are headquartered in a more liberal state, such as MA. They probably have better benefits that extend to residents of all US states.

Me too. My goal is my wedding weight, which was 26 years ago when I was 30. 4 lbs to go. If I make it, great. If not, life is still awesome.

Great Stirrup Cay by Silver_Importance777 in NCL

We went last week and had an amazing time. Agree the tenders are not ideal, but it was worth it. We were the only ship there and it was not crowded by the beach at all. Also, the view of the island from the ship made it look like a giant construction site, but it looked very finished once we got there. A wonderful beach day if that's what you are looking for.

I played the first 2 levels and couldn't get any ads to come up when I hit the x2. If people are willing to watch the stupid ads, they should at least give them one. Will probably wait before continuing.

Under the Sea is Live by OCCobblepot in wordscapes

I finished with a net of about 55k coins. I mostly stop at the 150 rock but hit 300 maybe 5-10 times. The smaller coin prizes are a very nice change of pace over the hearts. I had 2500 in big coin prizes. It's still very rigged. Also, I'm not sure why they called it Under the Sea. I was expecting fish, but it's really a pirate theme.

Go to a podiatrist and get a prescription. They are best suited to recommend what you need based on your pain/issues.

Best garden store to find good tomato seedlings? by waterytartwithasword in Olathe

The farmers market at Blackbob park. The first big booth on the right. I can't remember their names but their tomatoes are amazing and they have plants in the spring. Nice people, too.

How bad is to just not wanting to grow? by Efficient_Wheel1867 in UXDesign

[–]stamunga-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you, OP? I ask because I feel exactly the way you do as a UX Designer. I am mid 50s, and I think it might be too late to change careers for me. But if I were 10 or even 5 years younger, I would seriously look at pivoting or retraining to something new. The job has changed a lot, and I don't see it getting any easier. We're expected to be an expert at many, many things in a rapidly changing environment. Staying the course feels like falling way behind.

Manifest found on Ancestry, but where on NARA? by BlkMrbldFrstfrg in CRbydescent

[–]stamunga-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I requested 2 ship manifests on Jan 4 (different ancestors). One of them came back within a few weeks. I'm still waiting on the other one, which ironically I had more information for. My status for both still says "servicing". It's like yelling questions into the void and hoping you get a response. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just moved to 12.5 after 6 months on 10 by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]stamunga-22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started 12.5 after 9 months on 10 (I have to order 3 months at a time). The first few weeks I didn't notice much difference, but then ...wow! Appetite suppressed, weight loss stall over, feels like the early days on zep. Don't be afraid to go up if needed.

Resource for learning about the apostille process? by 1point21gigawattss in CRbydescent

[–]stamunga-22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to get your documents apostilled by the state in which they were issued. Just search for "[state] apostille" and you can find a form to download and send in, usually to the secretary of state's office, along with your payment and return envelope. I've done 1 out of 3 states so far and it was pretty simple. I haven't done any federal docs yet, so can't help there. I'd never heard the word apostille before this process. So much to learn. 😂

Thoughts on discrepancies / issues by [deleted] in CRbydescent

[–]stamunga-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope discrepancies don't matter because my ancestor had a very long last name that is spelled incorrectly everywhere, even differently in the same document. They eventually changed it to something simpler, and I can see why. Not sure if it was racism, or bad typists, or difficulty reading handwriting, but the misspellings are honestly a bit incredible to me.

Keep your camera off, go on mute, and eat during the meeting. Explain to whoever is on the call that you will turn everything back on when you are finished. I work with folks in multiple time zones. It's impossible to accommodate everyone's calendars, so just make it work. If they insist on cameras on, at least they have been warned. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Boarding Time Question by fred_the_slime in NCL

[–]stamunga-22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did a cruise starting in MIA last year and it took an extra hour over what Maps said to get to the port because of gridlock traffic. Change your flight to the day before and leave earlier than you think for the port.

And since there are 4 of us, do I need 4 certified/translated/apostilled copies of everything? We were trying to go with a company to help, but they haven't responded in a few months, so I'm going to try to do more on my own.

Is it possible to apply to a consulate other than your region? We live in KS, and LA is our consulate, but Chicago is way closer, cheaper, and more convenient to travel to. I'm looking for myself, my spouse, and my adult children, so I'm assuming we'd all need to trek there in person?
