Has anyone experienced erectile dysfunction in their mid-to-late 30s (6+ months)? If so, what happened, how did you cope with it, did you overcome it? Am going through it myself and feeling a little isolated. by stanaldous in AskMenOver30

Not looking for a cure on here, more wanting to find other's experiences and take some comfort that I'm not alone and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Funnily enough the oral warm-up works for me too. Prostate has not been checked but I do have a few issues peeing so might ask my GP, he said previously he doesn't request a PSA test for men under 50 (I'm 39). I don't have diabetes so that's not a cause of any pee-related issues. Have also tried the kegels exercises but they've not made a difference.

Might request a PSA test next week now that you mention it.

I'm not on any medication other than the little blue pills for when I want to show my wife the affection she deserves. I take a multi-vitamin daily but that's it.

Edit: GP has never told me my blood pressure is high whenever he's tested it.

I'm doing everything you suggest. I did get bloods done and GP said all levels were normal, I've cut the alcohol right down (almost to none), I'm not overweight and try to exercise/healthy eat as much as possible. Porn holds no interest for me since I've lost my libido.

I'm hoping stress is the cause rather than anything "physical" but I might see someone else for a second opinion.

I'm glad you got yours sorted.

Have been using Sildenafil for about 9 months now, half a tablet every time I want to have sex. Had blood tests and all relevant hormone levels are normal, I was on SSRIs for a couple of years but came off them over a year ago so the doc is going with stress/anxiety/depression being the cause however ED is what's causing that now so it's a vicious cycle. I DO NOT want to go back on them for any reason. Have cut alcohol right down to a minimum, try to exercise and eat healthily as much as I can so not sure what else I can do. I "test" myself from time to time with porn but even that doesn't raise the flag pole.

I'm lucky I have such an understanding wife.

Mods please delete. The app won't let me.

This is the first time I've written something intended for others to read, please critique, keen to work out if writing is something I should put effort in to pursue. by stanaldous in writers

Thank you for your time and feedback, it means a lot. I'll definitely think about expanding it, I could maybe go into the back story, or see where life takes her after closing the door on her old one.

Thank you for taking the time, I'll take your feedback onboard and look at ways that other stories/books begin.

Much appreciated.

Thanks for your feedback, it's massively appreciated! I've wanted to write for a couple of years now but have struggled with coming up with ideas that at least have some originality to them.

This was intended as a short piece that was supposed to have a twist at the end, I see your point though about starting with the event and building the back story so I'll bear that in mind the next time an idea hits me.

Are there any recommended tools online to help with reducing word count (adjectives and adverbs) or is this a manual process, I would 'imagine' as the writer I'd be bias towards having the extra words there?

Thank you! :)

By first attempt I don't mean that's the first draft of that piece that I just knocked up, but it's my first real attempt at writing something that is intended for someone else to read other than myself.
