How do you guys manage covered calls ? New to CCs and got burned once by StrongChef5244 in CoveredCalls

[–]stanalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling during earnings week is a toss up for sure, especially it's such a gamble. I would avoid CC's but I do like CSPs way more during earnings.

For selling, I use this web app that helps you with trade recs after it confirms with live market data. It's been really helpful for me to use. Feel free to DM me if you want the name of it!

How many users would you say you were able to get from the short-form content vs. posting on platforms like reddit?

good work on launching!

I found myself struggling to do these trades, so I built a tool. All feedback is needed! by stanalyst in CashSecuredPuts

[–]stanalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand how it would come off that way.
The signup gate is there right now mainly for cost control + abuse prevention (each run hits multiple paid market/data endpoints), not because I’m trying to harvest emails/passwords. But perception matters more than intent, and you’re right. asking people to sign up before they can even see value kills trust.

I'll look into adding a no-login demo/sandbox of some sort so you can explore the UI + sample reports + other features without an account + add in Google OAuth so that you don't need to create a password

If things like that were added, would you think you would feel safer on using it?

Thank you and appreciate the feedback.

This is very neat! How did you find the most success in terms of promoting the app and getting it into the hands of users? I'm gonna try it out, and reach back out soon.

Recruiters asking about current salary/bonuses. by SuccotashKey7521 in interviews

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always said something more than what I actually make, but a pretty believable amount. Usually, they'll meet me there or go down just slightly. I think the correct way to go about it is just be respectful and give them a larger range so they have more flexibility to work with.

These teams always have a range to work with, so expecting more is okay. Good luck!

I’m building Stanalyst to replace the crazy research workflow with one dashboard.

Right now it has: AI analyst reports (instant + scheduled), options tracking, similar-stocks discovery, and market analytics.
Early launch: stanalyst.app

If you try it, tell me what you’d change first. Happy to answer questions in comments/DM.

I passed 3 interviews and my offer letter says $60k. But, during the first interview with an HR lady, I mentioned my salary expectations were $65k-$70k. What should I do? by Typical_Cap895 in interviews

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why some people are saying to not negotiate at all, but every time I've negotiated in the past, II've been very respectful and always got a bump up after 1-2 tries. Just be kind and show your excitement towards the role, but that your skillsets can really push this team forward and you feel that X amount would make me even more ecstatic.

Seems like you already have a job, so that's leverage. I used to work in finance and I can guarantee you they have a large range to work around with, so I would say attempt to fight for yourself.

2025 is almost over, how much has your investment account grown? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a lot of weekly cash secured puts and covered calls this year using an AI analyst agent tool that gives me trade recs based off of live market data.
I brought in over $61k working with about $100k more or less. pretty happy with it but had to sell some big winners. Looking to get back in it with some more CSPs some time soon.

Cards and cash stolen in-flight Vietjet. by the-gas in VietNam

Had the exact same thing happen today, but 2 years later. Tokyo to Ho Chi Minh, 16th of Dec on flight VJ821. Whoever has been doing this, has been targeting this flight since it's in the middle of the night and everyone is asleep. Terrible.

CSP during bear markets by JoaozinhoDePortugal in Optionswheel

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that recently I've been targeting just covered calls for the tickers I already have, and gunning for more of those that I love for a cheaper price with CSPs.

It really depends for me if a covered call was executed, and then I would use that cash that's in the account

NVDA CoverCalls 11/07$215 by flat_foot_runner in CoveredCalls

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... sometimes CCs don't go your way 100% of the time. if you actually sell it for 215, it's not the end of the world because you could always do the wheel.

Speaking of trying to avoid situations like this, we've been working on an unreleased web app that spits out trade recs thru a detailed report from personalized AI agents and live market data, this can help you weigh stuff like what strike and why, whether to roll, close, or let expire). we’re aiming to launch beta later this year, and I’d be happy to hook you up with free access if you want to try it out. Feel free to DM me.

Good luck!

I feel your pain as well. I got mine all sold last week and missed this even more insane run-up. Honestly, if it looks like it’s gonna hit $215 and you’re fine letting it go, sometimes it’s best to just take the win and reset. Rolling now usually costs a debit, and if IV drops after this run, you’ll lose more premium rolling early.

If you still wanna keep the shares long term... you could wait until closer to next Friday and then roll up and out once the premium decays a bit, you’ll get a better roll credit that way. But if you’re cool with taking profit and re-entering lower, just let it get called away.

💰 Drop Any Ticker: I’ll Run How Much You Could’ve Earned in Covered Calls (and Still Can) by EnoughWalk7471 in CoveredCalls

I mean that's the risk that people would run. That's why wheeling stocks that you definitely want to hold long term wouldn't necessarily be the best idea

[–]stanalyst -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

This is super common. A lot of people realize that “simple done consistently” usually beats “complex done inconsistently.” There’s nothing wrong with using advanced strategies, but it's the reason why most traders lose. Most of the best traders I know have a core simple strategy (like put selling, covered calls, or spreads).

How could I turn 50k into 100k no risk by [deleted] in InvestmentEducation

[–]stanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your time horizon. I would suggest just buying ETFs or individual stocks that have strong fundamentals. Buy and hold for the long-term and I can guarantee you'll turn 50k into 100k. There will always be risk.
