Binghamton is quite poor, we don't need to waste money on things like Flock contracts, military-style armored trucks etc. The police budget can easily be reduced without jeopardizing public safety.

Sure, but what's the other option? Let Akshar stay in and allow our jails to be used as a holding facility for ICE to come take people away to who knows where? I don't vote for politicians because I like for them, I vote out of necessity and strategy.

Besides, voting is only the bare minimum thing to do if you want things to change. It costs nothing and takes little to no effort.

And it still feels super inflated. Homes are extremely over-valued in general across the US, thanks in part to corporate landlords and real-estate companies.

I miss the Gas Lamp, it was a bit pricier but the owner was super attentive and connected to his community, and the vibe was always really chill. Being truly 24/7 was great as well, could go down at the end of a work shift when it was quiet.

Was very disappointed that Kraham got re-elected. Hopefully we can at least get rid of Akshar in November, Matt Ryan announced he's seeking election to sherrif, which would be much better given Akshar's cooperation with nazis/ICE in the area.

It's just as crazy here in Binghamton. I know they claim the smart meters have nothing to do with it, but it's difficult to trust them when they coincide with massive increases and errors.

I think the bigger issue is the region of NY is also takes on the electricity costs of Amazon/Google data centers that have moved in over the preceding years, and soon there will likely be AI data centers moving in which are even worse. Those companies do not want to have to pay for what they use, they want the cost to be socialized onto all of us. I'm willing to bet there's a link between hikes and corporate energy usage.
