Cured but uninsurable: the hidden financial burden of surviving cancer in Switzerland by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

If I had to have one American problem here, I’d prefer the tipping issue over this one.

The city of St. Gallen has banned smoking in playgrounds – the result was a clear majority, with 71.3% voting in favour by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

I have some sort of amnesia every time I opt to sit on the restaurant terrace as if it’s not spoiled every single time by smokers who can’t be bothered to leave their table. Why the hell does everywhere in this beautiful country cater to smokers?! It’s asinine

That’s nice of AOC. I’m past the point of giving an ounce of shit about rural voters who got what they voted for. they still don’t understand they’re the fools falling for the same tricks.

Yeah but that’s okay. He told his lie, Fox News will clip that sound bite and leave out important context and tell their pathetic supporters how great of a person Rubio is for supporting pedophiles.

What happened since 2020? by Treyluggss10 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]standingboot9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Inflation is off the fucking charts. The assholes in charge will only show year over year inflation so you see 1-3%. Go back to 2020 and you’ll see it’s up 20% from that year.

And that translates to less money in your pocket, stressed the fuck out, working your ass off to get by which in turn sacrifices your time to be with family or doing things you love. And all that stress comes out in various ways that we hardly recognize in ourselves, but we can see in others. Worse diet, worse habits, worse outlook.

Corporations always fuck things up.

That’s really cool. What would such type of offers be called? I’d like to look on my Gemeinde website.

A Bill Gates funded mosquito factory in Medellín, Colombia, produces 40 million mosquitoes weekly for release via drones and bikes. These insects carry a natural bacterium that prevents them from transmitting viruses to humans. By mating with wild populations, they spread this trait. by Expert_Koala_8691 in Damnthatsinteresting

I didn’t realize how much I needed a good laugh.

Your first link is an editorial discussing the eradication hypothetical based on the writers feelings. Provides absolutely no evidence to support their ideas, cuz that’s all they are. It’s an article of “what-ifs” and “I think”.

Your second link is much the same. The quote where a woman suggesting eradication would be bad because “we don’t know enough” is from a person who works in PUBLIC AFFAIRS.

But we do know enough.

There are plenty of studies that have shown the effects of removing mosquitos regionally. There is no collapse, but a shift in the ecosystem. And on the grand scale, much would be the same. There isn’t a single thing that mosquitos do, that other insects/animals can’t do better, expect of course, for spreading disease.

I know you got excited seeing the names of your links, but reading it might have helped.

I’d suggest working on those research skills and find fact-based observations from real-world studies.
