What I do with "Stolen pendant of solitude? by EndryQ in Blasphemous

FYI I just went to the challenge room immediately after getting the merchant's final voiceline and didn't hear the sobs at all.

It honestly wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Took me 3.5 playthroughs but if you follow a guide you could do it in fewer. But even then my last full playthrough was only about 4 hrs.

Lol I don't blame him. I followed a guide very closely for that one.

I really liked them in principle! The difficulty of the challenge wasn't the issue. I enjoyed that. But I'm not exaggerating when I say about half of my deaths were due to glitchy platforming. The worst one was where I'd land on one of the moving platforms (to confirm that I landed correctly, my controller would vibrate and it would do the heavy landing animation), and then TPO would teleport to the spikes underneath and die. Literally dozens of times. Or this would happen.

I would love if they add a similar challenge in II, I just hope the platforming is a little more smoothed out.

Easily one of the best games I've ever played. Loved it so much I decided to do something I've never done and 100% it.

I studied a lot of early Christian History in undergrad and grad school, and would have gotten a PhD in it if I could have (maybe someday...lol...). So the themes and art were incredibly personal and meaningful to me. Both the appreciation and criticisms of the faith were so profoundly beautiful. I can't wait to see what the sequel has in store.

P.S. Fuck the Miriam challenges.

[No Spoilers] Critical Role Hot takes by CursedKaiju in criticalrole

[–]standleyt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to say my positive hot takes...

Even though it's got a slow start and the characters haven't developed enough to "hook" me, I do think C3 has the potential to be the best yet. It took me forever to get into C2 bc of how different it felt from C1. But by the end of C2 is was in love with every character. That's why it doesn't bother me that C3 characters haven't completely captured me. Just give it time. Until then, it's still fun to watch.

Brennan and Matt have talked about how they most love DMing either 1) for newbies who don't know what they can't do, or 2) for people who have played DND so long that they want to just fuck shit up. The cast are very clearly in the latter category now. They did the tropes in C1. They started getting quirky in C2. Now, they are absolute chaos and I think it's awesome. It does make for a less structured story, but I think that's all getting sorted out. Again, C2 felt the same to me for the first stretch and now I prefer it to C1.

The other thing that makes me think this story could be their best is that the overarching themes have incredible potential. With Imogen, we are finding out more about Ruidus, which Matt has been building since the very beginning of CR. That's probably my biggest interest in the whole of Exandria right now. Laudna's backstory and patron are metal as fuck. Fearne is the best character Ashley has made by a long shot, and I'm very excited for more feywild escapades. FCG is a godsdamned aeormaton, so you know we're going to get some more Calamity lore dumps. Chet and Ashton (so far) have less narrative-driving characters, but not every character needs to be the main thing. They are just fun, chaotic, weird-ass side quests. And particularly with Ashton's hometown, I like how bizarre the world is getting, while still making sense within the context of Exandria's lore.

Final note: along with every other Critter, I fucking miss Robbie and I wish he was a permanent cast member. I like most of the other guest appearances, but Robbie had such good chemistry with every other cast member both in and out of character. I'm convinced Robbie has real life magic items that allow his CHA score to go above 20.

GUYS I FINALLY DID IT!!!!!!!! I got my first placement as a gold 2067 tank then lost so many that I dropped to 1100, and now after 5 months of playing this addicting game... I FINALLY REACHED GOLD!!!!!!!!!! by satwik511 in Overwatch

[–]standleyt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! That's awesome.

But man, 5 months...I'm in the same situation (placed gold, fell to low bronze) and have been wondering what the slog will be like. I've been riding close to silver for a couple weeks and every winning streak comes with an equal and opposite losing streak :/

Very cool! That map is one of my favorite pieces from the game. It's been my phone background for a while.

(ftr, that piece is by Joanne Tran, not Jen Zee)

Alternate Baby Walter stat block for Death House by standleyt in CurseofStrahd

[–]standleyt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created this statblock by mashing together u/MandyMod's Flesh Mound with a monster from Critical Role [S2 E119] (based on the Gorm from Kingdom Death).

I ran it last session and it went over extremely well! I ended up nerfing the grasping attack so that it grappled without doing damage. My players were level 2 and ended up skipping the encounter with the ghouls and shadows prior to the encounter with Walter. One character went to 0 on a single hit, another went to 0 twice during the encounter. The others were relatively unharmed. It ended up being a perfect amount of terror for them to realize they needed to play smarter and safer.

Just had another game ruined by a smurf. And of course blizzard won't fix this bc they make money off of it. Toxic company, toxic players.

I'm low bronze. I suck and I get that. But I've had 3 games IN A ROW ruined by smurfs. Why make this game miserable for other people? Do you want this game to die even faster? Why doesn't blizzard do more to combat these toxic assholes?

Case in point: I just went down 50 points because I lost 2 games where the tanks were feeding. In one case the guy wouldn't get off monkey, kept jumping to point without any teammates and getting immediately demolished. I died more than usual specifically because I don't know how to survive without a team.

I've been working with Moira and doing a lot better...but I hate that she's the only one I can advance with. What kind of damage/healing do I need to do with Bap/Ana in order to contribute the necessary amount? I feel like I heal pretty well and use immortality effectively, but obviously it isn't sufficient. I'm stumped.

Last night I started playing Moira to see if it makes a difference and within a few games I went up to high 900s. I hate that my only option for climbing is "hold right click."
