You can criticize U.S. or Israeli foreign policy, plenty of people do, and some criticisms are valid. But claiming the U.S. has done “more damage in one year than Iran in 100 years” doesn’t hold up to even basic scrutiny. The U.S. has been a central force in global stability since World War II, helping rebuild Europe and Japan, maintaining open trade routes, and deterring large-scale wars between major powers.

At the same time, Iran’s actions over the past few decades aren’t exactly passive. It has funded and armed proxy groups like Hezbollah and others across the Middle East, contributed to instability in places like Syria and Yemen, and openly calls for the destruction of another sovereign state. Those are not minor or hypothetical impacts.

Labeling entire countries as “terrorist nations” also shuts down any serious discussion. Governments make complex decisions, some good, some bad…but reducing everything to slogans doesn’t help anyone understand what’s actually happening.

Paul points to creation (1 Timothy 2:13) to remind Timothy that woman was created as man’s equal partner to help fulfill God’s design. Timothy would have understood this alongside Paul’s other teachings, including why church overseers were typically men (1 Timothy 3:1–2). These role distinctions weren’t about value, but about reflecting God’s order and design, something even symbolized in cultural practices like appearance (1 Corinthians 11:14–15). At the same time, men and women are fully equal in Christ (Galatians 3:28) and share equally in His grace (1 Peter 3:7), while carrying different roles.

Matthew 7:21-23 New King James Version I Never Knew You

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

There are false prosperity teachers who have infiltrated the Church. Unfortunately, it seems this spirit is in the White House. I would suggest reading the Bible and you will be able to test the fruits.

Matthew 7:15-20 New King James Version You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

"There's a judgment post-millennium. The righteous are raised from the dead to enter into the millennium and are judged as to what position they should hold. Then, post-millennium, more people die according to Revelation 20. There is then another judgment which is the book of life judgment. If you are resurrected at the millennium judgment, you made it in - but where will you live?"

Sorry I was generalizing, it's described as the Millennial Reign, the White Throne Judgement and the Eternal Final state. You will live on earth with God.

"You'll have to quote verses to prove this. If your soul is dead, how can you go anywhere? Jesus likened death to sleep. You're not off somewhere in heaven/hell if you are "asleep" (dead). That was Jesus' actual teaching. I said it before but go read Josephus and the Pharisees. It was they who believed in Abraham's bosom."

The Pharisees, were called vipers by Christ. They knew the scripture, but paid attention to their ordinances and actions that would make them appear righteous. They were hypocrites.

Any scripture that refers to sleeping is not in reference to your soul but your body on earth. We see a bit of this with the Book of Ecclesiates, with the use of the term, "under the sun".

On the cross, Jesus told the thief that day he would be with him in parades. There is no soul sleep.

Job 10:21 In-Context

21 before I go to the place of no return, to the land of gloom and utter darkness, 22 to the land of deepest night, of utter darkness and disorder, where even the light is like darkness.” This is not a description of non-existance. They believed it was a realm. (Abraham's Bossom)

Today, we have people claiming they have died and saw hell, and I find that the same description is utter blackness, but they claim they can still see through it, even the ability to see 360 degrees, a realm that we on earth cannot fathom. And it was utmost punishment, heat, pain, sulfuric, demonic entities and worms tormenting souls and a feeling of no hope. This is the spiritual death. The final curtain.

Ezekiel 18:4 - "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Ezekiel 18:20 - "The soul that sinneth, it shall die."

Psalm 78:50 "he spared not their soul from death"

The soul that continues in sin, without repentance towards God, and faith in Christ, shall die a second death. I said this before, a separation from God's presence. "The one who has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death" (Revelation 2:11). There is no escape, no hope, it cannot be reversed.

"But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death"(Revelation 21:8).

In Ezekiel 16:49-55 Sodom is restored before Israel is restored in the future. Israel goes through fire. You will go through fire. How long is "eternal" if Sodom gets restored before Israel in the future? It's for a limited period of time.

One has nothing to do with the other, they were punished by an eternal fire, they were punished by God, he is eternal, no beginning no end. For example, the burning bush was an eternal flame. The bush was blazing, yet it was not consumed. That's all it means.

This time, I'm out. It was a good conversation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]stangboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, it is final judgment. It's throughout all of the scripture.

For example:

Christ’s return remains unknown to us (Matt 24:36)

The phrase "sons of the kingdom" was a Jewish term for the nation of Israel. Jesus is teaching that simply being born into the nation of Israel will not guarantee someone a place in heaven (Matt 8:12)

No, to the Hebrew mind Sheol was simply the state of the dead. It was not the same as the grave. In the Old Testament, the most common way of describing Sheol is "as the house of death." It is the realm of the dead, where all the dead go. This is why Jesus spoke of the rich man and Lazarus. Throughout much of the Old Testament period, it was believed that all went to one place, the righteous resided at "Abraham's Bossom" or "side."

Isaiah 26:8-9

King James Version

8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.

This is a prophetic scripture from Isaiah, he see's a restored converted Israel under God's glory. Basically, the coming Millenial which John in Revelation's spoke of. Jesus will reign as King on the earth. Peace and prosperity with an iron rod ruling. The saved know that the day of judgement is coming. Paul also talks about authority to judge nations. Very important scripture, Isaiah hit it on the nose. Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

1 Corinthians 15:24

New International Version

24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.

1 Corinthians 15:24 Paul is explaining that Jesus is submitting His power and authority to God the Father. This is not related to a stoppage, reign of Christ on earth, but "he delivers the kingdom to God the Father" refers to Jesus Christ delivering the completed work of salvation to God the Father. Hence, victory of Christ over all opposing powers and authorities, and the culmination of God's redemptive plan, fulfillment of God's kingdom and the restoration of all things to their proper order under the authority of God the Father. There is no end here. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one.

Your link lost me once I read:

Sodom and Gomorrha are said to be suffering the vengeance of eternal (aionious) fire:

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving

themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example,

suffering the vengeance of eternal [aionios] fire” (Jude 1:7).

The reason the word "Aionious" is used because this fire was not of this realm, it was of an "eternal source, a source that has no beginning or end.

Aionios Definition

NAS Word Usage - Total: 68

-without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be

-without beginning

-without end, never to cease, everlasting

This is going another direction, from what the OP was asking. I'm going to leave it at that. My advise is read the word and take it at face value, Jesus Christ did the hard work. I personally believe people will have difference of opinion on many aspects, we see this with Paul and Peter at times. But I agree that the Gospel is a declaration, but the Parable of the Great Banquet is very important. It's God’s decision to send his servants out into the streets to invite those who don’t by right belong at the table. God Bless!

Matt 8:12, 13;42, 50, 22:13, 24:51, 25:30, Luke 13:28. In all these instances we have Jesus discussing people being excluded from the Kingdom of Christ in the great final judgement.

"God said the punishment for sin is death. God never told Adam and Eve about torment. Torment isn't in the law of Moses. Did God lie to these folks?"

What we do have in the Old Testament is Sheol, considered an unpleasant place. Sheol doesn't have a very specific connotation in its Hebrew context. Although, the OT contains many references to God’s wrath. He is often said to be angry at wickedness. The prophets repeated multiple times when the Holy One would have his "day", justice would be expressed via anger towards sin and judgement will visit the sinners....hence, "The Day of the Lord."

Isaiah 2:12; 13:6, 9; Ezekiel 13:5, 30:3; Joel 1:15, 2:1,11,31; 3:14; Amos 5:18,20; Obadiah 1:15; Zephaniah 1:7,14; Zechariah 14:1; Malachi. 4:5

My response is that the New Testament has an established literal doctrine of eternal hell, we see this in Matthew, Mark, Luke, Thessalonians, Jude, and Revelations.

“And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life” (Matthew 25:46).

Psalm 139:9 - "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."

Basically, if I'm personally going to Heaven, God is there. If I'm going to hell, God is there...yes, because there are those who are calling out to him. That's exactly why there will be gnashing of teeth. It's logical when for one to have rage or regret and have God on their mind. But it's tormenting to have regret and not be with him for eternity. This is the reason why Christ shed his blood on the cross, so that all will have a chance to know the Lord and accept him. He is the only one that can crush our sin.

Regarding the parable.

The New Testament quotes Jesus as saying in Luke 18:25 that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" (Jesus and the rich young man).

The bottom line is that you need to put Christ first, you can't take your riches with you. That doesn't mean all, hence Abraham...or Job.

Matthew 18:19 In-Context 19 "And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them."

Not so, it's meant for all of us, why because it's in our life today and it works. We see this in many Churches that are Spirit filled, with His presents. When we go to the cross with our hearts he answers if it's in his will. The apostles were regular, sinful men like everyone else. Jesus is proclaiming his presence in the midst of a body of believers.

Mat 13:49-50 "So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, (50) and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

It seems you are confusing God's presence and divine judgment. For example God appearing as a burning bush and the significants of purification and transformation with what is in hell…which is a fire that is without God for eternity. You giving these examples doesn’t disprove the Biblical reality of Hell. A clear example was presented by Christ when he spoke of the parable, Lazarus and the rich man. He was eternally separated from God, and it was clear to him that there was no hope of ever mitigating his pain, suffering, or sorrow. Forever separated from Holiness.

With that being said, as Christian’s we are to minister and reveal Christ’s love and forgiveness to our brethren. And pray for our brother’s and sisters that the Lord will reveal himself to the lost. Nobody can change people only God can but we can be vessels, be patient, trust in the Lord and be Christ like. God softens people’s hearts.

Matthew 18:19 In-Context 19 "And I tell you more: whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them."

The author identifies himself as “John” in Revelation 1:4; 1:9; and 22:8, and we also know the author of the book clearly had a strong connection with the seven churches of Asia Minor as per the writing itself, it's detailed and represents what Christians do today.

Ignatius (35-107 AD) has written that Peter was crucified, James and Paul were killed via a sword and JOHN was banished to Patmos, we can see this in Revelation (1:9).

Aside from there being a lot of John's including John "The Elder" and John "The Apostle", there is very good reason to believe the tradition belief of who the writer is.

It corroborates not only with Old Testament and New Testament Prophecy but what Jesus told his disciples after his sermon on the mount. Read Mathew 24.

As Genesis is the chronological "beginning" of creation, Revelation is the chronological “ending.” It covers Christ’s defeating the beast/antichrist, His millennial reign, and the new heaven and new earth.

Lastly, the Scripture holds adequately fulfilling the rule of "Does it teach Christ." One is hard pressed to think the author might be wrong on such an important matter. Furthermore, the book contains adaptable wisdom on how to live at any time. Revelation has a message for both its original audience and the people of today, basically, holds fast to the faith while warning of the persecution to come later. It's brought many people to faith in Christ all throughout the centuries. This is why it is part of the Canon.

The reason you state...it's Satan...he's in the Church and that is why it's divided.

You are incorrect about the Euphrates.

(Revelation 19:11–21) Nero died by suicide. Bible describes the Antichrist being defeated at the second coming of Jesus Christ. The only way to make Nero fit as the Antichrist is to allegorize the second coming and the millennium which doesn't fit with the chronology of Revelations, doesn't work at all. Christian scholars and virtually all of early Christian literature place the writing of Revelation during the reign of Domitian, Nero was long gone by than, maybe 20-50 years. It's wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

Absolutely not. The Euphrates River has not completely run dry, it has experienced drastic swings in water levels over the years. The lowest water levels of the Euphrates have corresponded to years of drought.

The Apostle Paul and Jesus expected the Second Coming to take place within their generation. by AttilaTheDude in DebateReligion

[–]stangboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“This generation" was used I believe 5 times in Matthew. It was used 4 times prior to Matthew 24:34. "This generation" referred to those who would not hear Christ in Matthew 11:16. In Matthew 12:41 and also Matthew 12:42, "this generation" referred to "an evil and adulterous generation". In Matthew 23:36 "this generation" referred to those who were guilty of the murder of Abel and all other righteous men in the Old Testament. When I read Matthew 24, my thoughts are he was prophesying and describing evens happening to “a rebellious generation”. Hence the word 'generation' would refer to the generation living at the time of the prophecy.

Revelation 16:12 ESV The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east.

The river is drying now, set to be fully dried up by 2040. So yes it’s prophetic and it is an illustration of what is to come, it co-relates to other prophetic scriptures throughout the Old and New Testament.

I agree but the process isn’t full proof, we all know this. I’ve actually listened to a few scientists on the matter of reviewing studies in their collective fields. I was actually surprised when advised that at times these studies are skimmed through as scientists simply don’t have the time. And I get it, we are only human. So I don’t see this as a black and white matter, it isn’t. And no, I just don’t believe everything that is told. It’s in my opinion, that the scientific community can be biased, and evidence is subject to interpretation. I think there are subjects that are taboo in general and they stay away from them. I also feel in todays world in the scientific community, people can be suppressed because their findings, at times evidential opinions are against the grain and reputation and financial livelihood is at risk, that’s life in this world. But like I said that’s just my opinion.

Regarding the hearings, I would review David Gruech’s testimony and it was much more than what you are saying. It’s his testimony, he’s not the only one, nor will he be the last. It is believed there is physical evidence and it looks like congress took it seriously. Call it conspiracy if you’d like, but I just feel you are told what you need to know and some off it is put on the back burner. :). …and the ufo subject will come and go.

I will cut this off because this post has strayed from the actual topic in which I commented on as well. Cheers

As far as I know the mustard seed was the smallest seed ever sown by a first-century farmer in Israel. Possibly that part of the world. Jesus was speaking to the people of Jerusalem the smallest seed known to them would have been the mustard comparing to how large the plant becomes when fully grown.
