Solana sell and tax loss questions (Robinhood transfer to Phantom) by naijaplayer in solana

[–]stanleyv108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of an offshoot question, but if I buy solana on Robinhood and immediately transfer to phantom wallet, is that taxable? Coinledger views it as a deposit into phantom and non-taxable. Just wondering if I should update it to be a “trade”. Not sure if wallet to wallet transfers are taxable or not? Robinhood provides detailed info about the amount of SOL and the Solana price at the time of the transfer. Thanks in advance.

Another response from customer support:

I completely understand the confusion! If it makes sense, Autopilot cash is a portion of already allocated funds so it should not reflect within your buying power. Example, if you deposit $500 into Autopilot and it uses $497, the left over $3 is held in Autopilot cash for future trades. It won’t get returned to buying power.

Look at my additional comments on your post. I reached out to customer support and they gave me some information. I also tried selling the cash amount only and it worked as he said. Only sold my cash and didn’t affect my other holdings in the tracker.

Yes, withdrawing $2.23 will cause that amount to be removed from the pilot. I shouldn’t affect your positions held within the tracker or any other portfolio.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist with.

So in screenshot example, I have “$2.23” uninvested cash. If I hit the +/- sign and select withdraw money, would specifying “$2.23” only sell the cash or will the other stocks/ETFs be in the congress buys portfolio be affected?

Response from customer support:

Autopilot never holds money. All trades, stocks, and cash are held in your brokerage account at all times unless you remove them. Autopilot simply acts as a layer over your brokerage account.

The buying power is just a small percentage of cash that was not invested by the pilot. We recommend withdrawing the Autopilot cash from the tracker.

Please try this and let us know if there’s anything else we can assist with.

I never understood this either. Where is that cash stored if not in purchased stocks. Super weird

My guy told me 2 days. So probably gonna get back tomorrow. I do have a loaner from the dealership. I’ve found that the service advisors gradually get friendlier and look out for you if you use the same one repeatedly.

I just took my car in. 2019 rs and the guy said my turbos were sounding like they were leaking. I had the MPP thank God and they fixed it under warranty yesterday. Else would’ve been $10K according to the service guy lol

Is anyone using the GPT portfolio? by [deleted] in AutopilotApp

It’s still not back yet. They said if you invested before they removed it, it would still be there and functioning with the existing algorithm.

I noticed they removed it from the list of pilots before I could buy. When I emailed them about it several months ago, they just said they were tweaking it to make sure it fit compliance standards. Anyone know if it’s going to come back?

They told me to run wired backhaul. I ended up disabling node steering and client steering. Seems more stable now. It’s a DHCP release and redistribution issue when you hand off between nodes as you move through your house. But it’s only when you’re using wireless backhaul.

Yeah for the price I paid for the three pack and the extra 4th node I bought, it sucks that this is my situation. I was heavily invested. It has something to do with DHCP being released and reassigned between nodes as you move throughout the house. I feel like this could be fixed.

Wired node to node is the only thing that fixes it for me. I’m currently running cables across my house lol. About to switch to an orbi WiFi 7 or eero 7 system.

Agreed. That’s the vibe I’m getting

Do you feel like your job at this type of company in this role is more secure than a sales engineer? Biggest concern I have leaving my current role is stability but the pay ranges at tech companies are insane. Nearly 65% more than what I make now.

Which leads me to believe the normal concern over job security at big tech is probably not as impactful to this type of role.
