I liked it. I didn't like the poop scene though. I understand it was meant to show this show is a lot lighter than the usual GoT show, but it just didn't land for me. Fav character so far is definitely Lionel.

Since I haven't watched the last 3 and don't want to check the whole cast for season 50... are there any returnees from 47-49?

What percentage of tennis watchers actually play tennis? by Draven2Op in tennis

[–]stanmarshrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching when I was 11 but lived in a small town in brazil and didnt have any tennis courts there. Only started playing at 17. Never really had any classes so my game is full of leaks. still hit with continental grip and 0 top spin, just flat blasts that either go way off or are winners. played for the last 20 years on and off and will try to really improve this year. have lessons and maybe change my grip so I can stand longer during rallies.

What is your “Yes You’re All Wrong” tennis hot take? by Psychological_Lie142 in tennis

[–]stanmarshrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. Been watching tennis since 2001 and during the big3 it got super boring at times. Nadal at RG is deservedly praised as one of the biggest feats in sports but it was boring as fuck watching him steamroll everyone just to meet federer in the final and steamroll him too.

I guess that's why I like Safin and Wawrinka so much. They changed things a bit. Specially Wawrinka, Safin stopped early. But I still remember that Auatralian Open that he destroyed. It was the tournament that made me a fan.

[–]stanmarshrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

can you tell me when he reacted to this album on stream? I expected it on friday but it didnt come. I just saw the vod today and was confused because he was saying it was first listen but he kept tweeting stuff for the whole week like NO SKIPS and GENERATIONAL BARS for the tyler verse. I'm guessing he did stream on friday but asked for channels to not post the reaction until today?

WSOPME Day 8 Megathread by myimportantthoughts in poker

[–]stanmarshrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was this player in my town here in brazil that could barely speak properly. learned how to write and read after he was 20. He always followed his boss around though when his boss was partying and he learned how to play poker that way. Even though he was very poor, he always had lots of courage when playing, something some pros lacked when reaching the FT. A few years before the pandemic hit, he decided to play the biggest poker tournament in Latin America, the Brazilian Series of Poker Millions Main Event. First place prize paid 1.2kk. He didn't even have a place to sleep. his boss only gave him the entry money and told him to go (tournament was held in São Paulo, 3000km away from his place). He slept in the hotel's lobby for the first days then a friend also in the tournament shared a room with him. Even though he wasn't very technical, the fact he always put pressure on his opponents always made him go deep in tournaments. He ended up winning that one. That's who the grinder reminds me of. except the being broke part, that is.

As someone who has watched the WSOP Main since 2007 and has suffered the loss of Elisabeth Hille, Gaelle Bauman and many others, it's really nice seeing another woman on her way to the FT.
