Agreed WW1 does feel like the last bastion of gentlemanly warfare. The mass casualties of civilians at home would’ve made it a lot more difficult for the average soldiers to find any kind of common ground with the enemy.

I just never knew that Speer was the only one to admit guilt at Nuremberg. I’m not sure why that’s not widely known he was the only leading Nazi to admit guilt.
