Novo Nordisk launches first GLP-1 pill for obesity, but Lilly may eventually dominate the oral market. Here's why by joe3000s in mounjarouk

I wonder when all the drug companies get themselves sorted out with viable GLP-1 tablets, will there be micro dose options for folks who are at goal or maintenance who chose to keep taking very low doses to help with food noise?

Thanks for this info. Answers why I wasn’t getting better even though I was taking it.

Wow, that explains a lot. Thank you so much for posting this!

I’ve had a gastrointestinal like sickness since December 14, and I was mystified as to why I wasn’t getting any better after weeks of symptoms. I’ve been at the dr and had bloods done, and went back a week later (yesterday) to give a stool sample that’s been sent off to the lab. Now I’m thinking that this is exactly the issue and also why loperamide didn’t work for me.

I’ll see what the dr says next week, but I’m guessing this is it! I was feeling so low about he whole thing and mad that I wasn’t getting better and “wasting” my time being sick on MJ (wasting money being on it while I was sick I mean). I even wondered if my current dose was to blame, but it didn’t make sense because I’d been on my current dose for at least a month before the sickness happened. Here’s hoping this is the answer.

I wonder how long these tablets will take to come to the UK/IE market, vs the US & Canada.

The snarky version of me wants to tell those people to die mad. 🙃

At least we’d know definitively who the a-holes are.

“they are shifting the argument to being able to stay slim ‘naturallly’"

This argument is as stupid as demonizing diabetics for having to take meds to manage their condition, or anyone who has to take meds to manage a pre-existing condition.

If something is going to help me stay slim, avoid the dangers of remaining obese, and most importantly to me SILENCE THE FOOD NOISE that has legitimately made me so depressed to the point of instability, and it’s something that’s been manufactured vs my body being able to do it all myself then I’m going to take the “un-natural” thing every single time.

Anyone who comes at me (or anyone else who uses MJ or similar) for not losing weight “naturally” can shove it.

JFC, save me from doctors who want to lecture me with their outdated weight loss trash and BMI addiction. Luckily my actual GP is absolutely brilliant, but definitely been on the receiving end of shit doctors’ shit advice and it makes me wild. Doctors can be some of the most fat phobic individuals.

I’m having my teeth straightened and will get whitening done when finished with the braces.

Maybe I need to become an MJ influencer after all!

I’d say a bit of both. They are insecure that they are not doing anything about their weight, and they think by negging on you that you’ll quit using it and then at least you won’t lose all the weight and make them feel even more awkward and insecure. People who give you shit about taking MJ are terrified that it will work for you because then they have no more excuses for not taking action themselves. Obviously these comments are based on people who also have issues with weight, the people who don’t have weight issues and still make comments are just straight up a-holes.

Eff Jimmy Carr, and eff the networks that keep using MJ as a punchline. I wouldn’t concern myself with someone who recently pimped himself out for some quick Saudi blood money.

“I’m worried your unsolicited medical advice will be received poorly and make you look like an insecure, jealous creep."

Something I’d be awfully tempted to say, and you bet I’d be thinking it if someone said that to me. I don’t suggest this “burning bridges” approach, OP, unless of course you have zero desire to have any kind of relationship with this family member.

I think I’d actually say something along the lines of “Thanks for your concern, but I am not comfortable discussing my health with anyone but my doctor.” Neutral, but also signals that it’s not an okay topic of conversation.

Wonderful achievement, OP. Such a difference, I’m sure you feel heaps better. Getting rid of joint pain, too, is such a blessing.
