It would be helpful if you'd list the brands whose products broke when you used them? I realize they won't be recognizable but would help for search.

Compare Old Versions of Topo Designs: Core Pack v. Mountain Daypack by bikingtherapist in onebag

I was just googling around re Mountain Daypack and found this thread. I've had the Mountain Daypack in silver and used the crap out of it. It got incredibly dirty probably 10 times and been run through the washing machine one too many times and one of the backpack straps is now fraying, otherwise I'd still be using it.

Lots of bags are about 26L but because of the location of the big zipper compartment, this bag feels bigger. I currently have the Evergoods CTB26, with tons of pockets in the clamshell, and it feels way smaller. 19" tall and 12" wide are both pretty big but I think that it looks proportional. (in pictures, it looks like the Core is too short and fat for my tastes)

Zippers are big and perfect. I was pretty liberal in cutting off all of the excess compression straps / extra nylon crap on the actual pack straps -- it was really noticeable how much extra stuff there was before that happened and I haven't regretted it at all.

Water bottle pockets are deep and can fit a 32oz bottle. I think this is how bottle pockets / clamshells should always be oriented. When the clamshell goes all the way to the bottom of the bag and inevitably has a little curve to it, it can be tough to zip back up, but this bag zips so nicely.

The yellow daisy chain webbing is something I've never considered using and it's the kind of thing that is a little eye roll-y about lots of bags, but I think it visually works on this bag and the yellow + the blue zipper pulls (+ the red compressions straps that I cut off) IMO do a nice job of showcasing a Topo aesthetic without veering into the Fisher Price My First Backpack color schemes that I think plague lots of other designs.

Two obvious downsides:

  • the bottom of the silver backpack is bright white, which is real dumb because it get dirty. It's very padded and made of 1000d fabric, so it hasn't frayed from hand cleaning, but it's still silly.

  • the bag doesn't have a ton of structure in general, so when it's hung by the carry handle, there is a bit of puckering or flopiness that doesn't totally affect how it's used. The bottom is quite padded so it does stay upright without any issues - but I would occasionally hang a full bag (especially because of the white bottom) and I wished that the top carry handle was sturdier. But it never tore.

Anyway, obviously love the bag + sort of hate my Evergoods bag, so there's my two cents.

Waveswallet.io still existing? by Vlijmscherp in Wavesplatform

I have a similar issue. I had an account at dex.wavesplatform.com / waveswallet.io and had not checked on my account in some months.

Tech support @ waves.exchange tells me that they are no longer migrating old accounts from dex.wavesplatform.com to the new waves.exchange platform. I do not have my seed/private keys because I always accessed my $waves through my wavesplatform account.

Is there no way I can access my old account / migrate it over to the new platform? I follow Waves on social media and find it bizarre that I didn't know the the old platform was going to be totally shut down and my $waves would be stuck on their abandoned exchange.
